The squad looks like it is finally coming together (at least at home). Time open a can of "whoop ass" on CMU!!!

They're all must-wins from now on but this one is crucial. Four of the next six are on the road, with five of the six against teams with winning MAC records. At the moment we're the sole #8 seed for the MAC tourney, and a win would keep us there (EMU plays Fiami Tuesday, and the winner will be 4-7). A bye in the tourney is pretty much out of the question; we're three games back with eight to play, and will probably have to win out, plus get help, to have a shot at a bye. An 8 seed or higher at least gets us a first-round home game.

Your administrator says there is no TV but on your web site it says the game is available via Portal Stretch Internet for free. Maybe that's not a contradiction since CMU fans, and others, will have to watch on their computers instead of their TV. Nevertheless a video stream of the game will be available. I will be watching.

I am more than just a little concerned about this game. We did not play well against Ohio in Mt. Pleasant and only managed to squeak out a close win. We followed that game with an OT loss to Bowling Green by two. I said at that time I thought we were entering into a slight downhill slide but we managed to right the ship against Western Michigan with a big second half comeback. I hope we play well down there but I have to be honest and say I don't like our chances in Athens.

I have long been a fan and an admirer of Ohio University. I have said many times if I had not attended Central Michigan I would have liked to attend Ohio University. I like everything about the university and its location. I have been down there for football and basketball games a number of times in the past and have always had a great time.

I'm looking forward to the game. Hope you have a nice crowd. It's an important game for both programs.

CMU relies on and shoots way too many threes and doesn't have much of an inside presence. Ohio wins this one and makes it three in a row.

Your comment about our lack of inside presence is spot on. We rotate three guys in the low post - Meyer at 6-11, Scott at 6-8/6-9 and Cabarkapa at 7-0. We have a lot of height but not a lot of game. They are all freshmen and we have high hopes for them in the future but right now they are works in progress.

Meyer will see most of the playing time at center but even then he usually doesn't play more than half a game. The problem is he doesn't defend well, is usually out of position for rebounds and has few low post moves. With good coaching we expect this to change over time. He will score some points on dunks.

If we don't have one of our bigs on the floor we will go small ball and press full court, dribble drive into the paint over and over and shoot the three. And you are correct, usually if the threes are not falling we are in trouble.

All of our home games are on free webcast. The original post has a category for webcast with the link to it.

Agree that Meyer can get stronger and better foot work. However, in the few games I've seen, I can't recall a MAC 7-footer (or close) who can run the floor like he does. He can become a special big man in a league with few special big men.

Is it the entire Ozone they introduce with the team at the beginning of the game now?

A non factor vs EMU on Saturday. Expect less on Tuesday (if that's possible). I don't get it. They now pay $20 to..........do nothing?

I wish other fan base folks who come here were as level-headed and easy to get along with as you are. If you want a real experience, you should see how Marshall fans react here when we play them. Yikes.

We are 1 or 2 point underdogs tonight, the only home underdog in the MAC this evening. Fun fact - This makes 9 of 11 MAC games that we have been the underdog in. And 1 of the 2 measly games we were favorites in, we actually lost (NIU), and the other we were favored by just 1 (EMU). So as disappointing as this season has felt, we are actually outperforming expectations?

I think this will be another close one. As per usual, we'll probably live or die by the three, particularly Bean's 3....But I really hope to see a heavy dose of Tony & Mo.

Been doing the webcast for years now. Surprised you have missed that.

Do you get over to Northwoods U? One of my good friends is coaching there. Good competitive league and a good brand of entertainment value.

never argue with idiots, they bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Winter comes and asks how you spent your summer.....

I think Vegas, much like all of us, doesn't have a clue what to make of us at this point.

Count me in on that. If the game were tomorrow, I'd probably go. As it is now, I really can't. Anyone have any idea why the back & forth on Wednesday/Tuesday games? It doesn't seem to be TV?

Agreed on the "must-win" aspect of this one. Extremely crucial. We gotta win this game.

With as much as the MAC has beaten up on itself, I wouldn't completely rule out a bye yet, but we absolutely have no wiggle room.

Glad we're not ACC or B10, which schedule hard for TV. UVA's conf schedule has 8 Saturdays, 2 Sundays, 3 Mondays, a Tuesday, 3 Wednesdays and a Thursday. Indiana has 3 Saturdays, 5 Sundays, a Monday, 3 Tuesdays, 4 Wednesdays and 2 Thursdays. These are pretty egregious, but most of the teams have something similar. Imagine trying to get into a practice rhythm with those kinds of schedules.

Anyone having sound issues with the webcast? Have it on full volume and I can barely hear anything.

EDIT: apparently it was just during the pregame activities...
