Bobcats take this one 72-60 with a pretty good crowd looking on. They are now on top of the MAC 7-1 and 16-3 overall.

Is there any at-large possibility here?

Not really.

Going into last night, Ohio's RPI was 69, Akron's was 63.

Sagarin has already updated and has Ohio at 56.

The MAC is rated 10th among conferences.

If the winning continues, they should at least be among the conversation. But my perception is that expanding to 64 teams only succeeded in making the tournament a party for the P5.

They're going to need to raise that RPI about 25 spots to even be in the conversation. There were a lot of really good Toledo and Bowling Green teams left out in the cold, so I'm not optimistic.

Ohio has a lot of games left against some of the worst teams in the MAC, and those won't help its RPI cause. Winning the MAC tournament probably is the only way in. If it doesn't, the WNIT is probable.

OHIO, one of the top 3-point shooting teams in the nation, came out smoking from downtown, hitting 6 of their 1st 8 shots from beyond the arc to take a 15 point lead in the early going. But ‘Kron, fighting to tie the Cats for 1st place in the MAC East, got back into it slowly as the Cats shooting cooled off, and finally tied it up in the 2nd half. But like the last game at Ball, the ladies refused to quit, and with their slow down methodical offensive game, kept Akron’s high gear offense at bay, and gradually pulled away for the big win. Q Lampkins, with 3 key steals and 18 points, led the way. Yamonie Jenkins came up big in her backup point guard role. But again, it was solid team defense for 40 minutes, using a switch-off man-man defense, that seemed to frustrate the Zips all night long.

OHIO, now 16-3, 7-1 in MAC play, takes a 2 game lead on “Kron. Nice crowd of 1828, including an Akron contingent from Waterford to watch Sina King play for the last time in the Convo. She had a nice game with 27 points.

Semeka did not trust the talent of local recruits after seeing a few that were in the pipeline that didn't work out. Hence, Butcher to Kent and Sina to Akron the same recruiting class. Butcher's knee stopped her career.

Unbelievable! We finally have some legit local talent and the coach can't identify it. Too bad.

Sure hope that no big ten teams have a coaching opening next year.

we're 16-3 and coming off a victory over that local talent. Are you suggesting that Boldon missed her?

Past tense: had. Sina is a senior. Bolden has recruited Dominique from Athens and is looking at some other promising local talent that is D1 capable.

Not at all - as oldkatz said, I just had my tenses mixed up. And for Jeff, as dismal as our program was, it would have been easier to like anywhere than OU.

OHIO did recruit King, as well as the young lady's from Tri-Valley, just did not get any of them. And as stated by Alan, OHIO was so bad, it would be easy to like anywhere better than OHIO. As for us missing King, she is a heck of a player and would be the same type of star here as she is at Akron. Sad thing is, OHIO may be looking for another coach sooner rather than later, he's grossly underpaid, and he has done wonders at two different schools.

Keep on enjoying the ride. Bobcats take down Central 74-66 in spite of Bradford's 29 points. The Bobcat express is rollin'! 17-3 overall and 8-1 in conference. HOPA!!

Excellent! I strongly dislike Central's coach and style of play.
