Chips are a well balanced, tough out.

Not sure what we got to throw at em after a wunnerful bus ride. Plenty of time to play music, check out social media....oh and look at the scout tapes. Novel idea.

I think there will be a better effort than what was displayed in Ypsi but another setback for our team. This season is going to be glorified practice for next year and beyond IMHO. Prove me wrong, Bobcats!

I agree about the glorified practice. I think this team will, in the end, upset a few big dogs in the league but will ultimately finish below .500 and probably win a game in the MAC Tourney (probably a first round upset on the road) before bowing out at around 12-19 or 14-17..whatever our game count is. We have four guys who can score but when they are off, they are off. It's not like we have a Nick who can hit the hole when he's not hitting from deep and we don't have a Wilkins who is almost automatic from three. Heck, our bigs don't even move well enough to be like a Jon Smith inside.

No leadership either. Guys like Ryan Taylor and Mike Laster shouldn't be starters yet and yet we're asking a lot of them. And I'm sure Bean's displeasure with his teammates is only compounded by what I can only imagine is a beating in practice by Jaaron Simmons on a daily basis. Heck, I if you put Kaminski, Simmons, Dartis, Block and Dozier out on the court right now they'd beat our starting five.

My guess is that Bean's displeasure with his teammates, particularly the reason why, was met with quite a few jaw-dropping stares at their phones at his complete lack of self awareness...which is unfortunately only surpassed by his lack of court awareness.

I'll be making the drive up to CMU on Saturday. After this game, I'll only have WMU left to visit in the MAC. I'm hoping to catch at least the second half of the women's game too.

I'd be interested in a post game report with your thoughts on the new and improved Rose Arena (I know McGuirk?)

It's pretty sweet. When you go down to your seat and then order from the cncession stand....well when what you order shows up at the seat...it is pretty special. Nice atmosphere, good sightlines, Band and students are not too imposing...maybe with wins they will see that change. Video boards are nice but smallish.

Great summary, Borna. Couple of adds.....nods to program heritage in common areas. Very nice. Good lighting. If they get rolling and fill the place it will be very loud. I like when the bar is raised in our league. It's good for us.

ESPN3 twin bill at CMU: Our ladies at 1, the men at 4:30.

Why doesn't OHIO play back to back home games when the opportunity arises?

Would like to see the effort that we had vs Buffalo. Not necessarily expecting the same result, but effort can cure a lot of ills.

Nods to program heritage on the concourses and/or concession areas is something I've been saying needs done in The Convo for a decade. And to do so probably isn't terribly expensive, is it? Does someone know about screen printing costs for wall size images of some of the best Ohio teams?

This is something that used to be a regular occurrence in the late 90's and early 2000's. Somehow it's gone away, but I don't see why having 2-3 Saturday's with this kind of double header wouldn't work. If sold right, you could sell tickets to the public one price for two games, and really push both programs. Add to that in November it might be possible to pair Volleyball with a hoops game.

I'd really like to see the AD ticket offices do more to really sell the programs to alumni. There are so many alumni in Cbus that have no knowledge of how easy of a day trip it is to come for a game with some lunch, and a bookstore stop.

You know every regime change takes down all the photos in the basketball suite and tosses them. TOS replaced by Groce. All the stuff of the loss to FLORIDA, Fears and Leon came down, Groce gone and all the stuff with KVK, Bassestt ad several others gone. JC gone and all the stuff from before goes bye bye. There are some guys who rescued framed prints and got them to the athletes in the pics.

Would have been nice to just take them up and put them in the concourse or the Rohr room or anywhere but where they went.

Concourse would be much nicer with historical perspective. WOuld be cheap, easy to do and brighten up the place.

Agreed on the subject. Seems wasteful the way we do things in many cases.

I've done most of the framing since Larry Hunter came to our gallery and ordered the framing for the then new Basketball Suite. We've updated the suite over the years, have always returned the replaced photos , I've never "tossed" any away, in fact I gave back a large group of images this year when we updated . Some of the big framed pieces were "taken" from the suites. I agree it would be nice to exhibit all the photos from all the years. We just usually update every few years, men and women.
