I never felt bitter about JG leaving and I will always support him. I loved him. I think JC was a Band Aid quickly picked to replace him. I would have always preferred Dustin. I think we make the NCAA Tourney last year with Dustin coaching DJ, Ivo, Walt and Reg. To that extent, I feel great about SP! Seems energetic and the type of guy eaten up by OU and its alumni!

Did TJ Jon and Travis graduate as well?

I hope he starts to see more success at Illinois.

Fair question about Jon & TJ, but Travis isn't a JG recruited guy.... if that's where you were going.

I just want our players to graduate.  I really don't care who recruited them.  I still hope DJ and Reggie come back and finish while class is still some what fresh in their minds.

In defense of JC, I was wondering what special insight into Zippy does Dustin Ford possess that would have prevented the 5-27 in the second half or the 1-20 from 3 for the game in the MAC Tourney CG, that would have gotten Ohio into the NCAAs in 12-13?
I doubt D. Ford or J. Boals would have done any better in Athens than JC the last two years. Besides, if DF or JB were hired in 2012, we most likely don't have SP now. And I believe Saul Ball is going to be very successful!

Speaking of Ricardo, when is it normal for the NCAA to make decisions on cases like his?  I'd have to imagine if he's eligible and he wants to stay that Saul & Staff would welcome him on the team.  It would be almost ideal to have another guy that's just here for one more year, and then have his scholly to fill with Saul's guy for future years.

This is kind of a parallel with the thought that if we don't have Knorr we don't have the opportunity to hire Solich.  It's strange the way things work out sometimes.  I was really upset when JC left, but now I agree with the posters on eagle outsider.com that we got the better of deal.  I think Saul may in many ways be a younger Solich-type hire in that he wants to build a program not just a resume.
