On behalf of Ohio Athletics, you're invited to meet new Ohio Men's Basketball Coach Saul Phillips at a social on Tuesday, April 8 at 7:00 pm in the Baker Center Ballroom (4th Floor)! The event is free and open to the public, and light refreshments/desserts will be served. Dress is casual.

Go Bobcats!

The Ballroom!  That is big. Impressive. Wish I could make it. Can we count on Tanner and Co to get it webcast?

There are some special surprises planned, including appearances by the cheerleaders and the Marching 110! The welcome social will not be streamed as it is more of a "meet and mingle" event. However, the 2:00 pm press conference on Tuesday will be streamed live (and archived) on OhioBobcats.com.

For 40 bucks I bet a money-starved student would  whisk out of the area Bobcats around the ballroom on an IPad via Facetime for a face-to-disembodied-head meeting with Coach Phillips.

You don't think he will be the main event on the Caravans this spring? I got a feeling he is going to capture the room.

I paid about 20 bucks to register for a meet and greet with JC last spring in Chicago, but due to severe weather here it was postponed. It was never rescheduled and I never got my 20 bucks refunded...

...I hope it went to a good cause.

Judging from Twitter, there was a great turnout. 110 was there, Saul loved that.

Reaction to the hire from students on social media is very positive. Your average fan seems excited.

I've seen crazier things happen.

I really had contemplated driving down from Cbus but couldn't make it today. I would definitely like to hear from folks who were there. I will parlay tonight's miss into an extra basketball trip next winter.

I went - very high energy! Very complimentary of the 110, Ohio, and Athens. Introduced his family and Jason Kemp, and reiterated statements from the press conference, and talked individually to each person in the room. His wife also talked with many people, and his kids were very engaging, also.

I am excited for Bobcat basketball!

More for your viewing enjoyment, borna.  BTW, I saw your son at the event but I didn't get a chance to talk to him.
