Not sure, but this could happen. WV connection with Schaus and Mich.Coach Beilein. MAC experience. #1 Mich. recruiter. Problem no head coaching experience. Will Boals make an effort, a lot of good contacts, but I feel that Schaus will not take any alum. Could be wrong.

My sense of JS is to expect the unexpected,  JC was certainly a surprise.  I think Boals is not out of picture at all.

Wouldn't be that upset...unless we passed on someone better...and give me that persons name who we offered and they said no.

My guess is that Schaus has already heard from some great candidates that none of us have thought of...

Right staff, wrong coach.

I would be all over LaVall Jordan.

The work he's done with Michigan's perimeter players has been exceptional.

Burke, Hardaway, Stauskas, LeVert....all have got significantly better under his watch.

Promising perimeter players are something that MAC level schools can always get.

Having a coach with a great track record in developing them, who's a former player and really well thought of assistant from a major program would be a huge win in my book.

I don't know if he would have any interest in the job but he'd be one of my top candidates.

My high school basketball coach had an old saying.....There are two things that don't last: Dogs that chase cars and teams that don't make free-throws.

I like Jordan. Speaking of Big 10 assistants, I also like Lamont Paris. His recruiting of Ohio has been exceptional, if not phenomenal, for the past decade.

Yeah, but as much of a surprise as JC was, JG was not a surprise at all and was talked about on this board before anything was released in the press. He also had no head coaching experience.

Good point.

If JC hires an assistant then it signals  the decision is financially based, due to the penalty clause in JC's contract.

It's financially based no matter what. Best candidate you can get signed within the available $'s range. I seriously doubt the best available candidates hover at the lower end of that range, or below............
