Let's face it, there are a few things that perhaps we as OU fans were simply refusing to admit but are/will be a reality:
1. Tariq wasn't going to make it in Athens anyways so losing him now hurts us less later. He has been to several high schools already. No way was he settling in Athens.
2. JC was never staying like Frank in Athens. He's still fairly young and let's face it, BC is his type of place, Northeast. I don't think he would have left for just any job.
3. Ndour leaving will hurt because he seemed like a solid guy and was only going to get better, but let's face it, if he tries big time, he will not succeed. No offense to him but he never truly dominated the MAC like Tree or McCrea and next year I felt like it would be Tony's year.
4. Now it's Tony's time. It's his post. It's his touches. It's Tony time.
5. As long as we keep Stevie, Bean, Treg and Tony, along with at least two of the incoming recruits, we are going to still be very good.
6. All of the speculation on transfers and guys leaving is moot. Remember when JG left and everyone said D.J. was leaving? Let it settle and let's see guys like Tony or our recruits leave when a charismatic guy like Kuwik or Dustin or Boals or Kelsey or anyone that Jim Schaus hires tells them how awesome the Convo is!

As much as moving high schools can be a red flag I would hate to pigeon hole a guy unless you know for sure why he kept moving schools.  One school move could have been easily been to play at a better high school with more exposure and the other could be because of parents jobs, who knows.

You have completed the denial stage and are now ready to move onto anger.

Wait, were those first couple points honestly meant to be "positives" because I would call those the exact opposite...

I assumed the "positives" in the thread title was just supposed be sarcasm, but then you actually made a positive point about Tony Campbell which completely threw off my hunch that you were trolling.

Please explain.

I've seen crazier things happen.

was anybody other than me just a wee bit uncomfortable with JC's reliance on JUCOs? I know its a new day and age, lots more transferring going on at all levels.  But seems to me JUCOs are sometimes (mo an exception) academically challenged.  And of course, you get them for just 2 years.  Hey, 1 every once in a while, fine.  But tell me a stable, top 50 program that has 2-3 playing significant minutes at any given time.

I view the first three points I made as negatives with a positive twist. These are things that were going to happen anyways. Mark my words, mark it down..are you marking it: Tariq Owens, while I was excited to have here, will be the next Rio Adams. He will land at BC or somewhere else major conference, will not like being second fiddle like Rio at Kansas, go to a Juco, then go back to a major conference, and like Rio, will not finish at a major school (Hi there Joe Mitchell).

I am thrown by Ndour...but at least we have three bad things all at once (JC, Tariq and Mo). That means three great things are coming!

Or he has an AAU coach and a dad who are going toe to toe about all aspects of his value to the team and take their ball in search of the game they want to play. Seen that one play out multiple players every season in our neighborhood

never argue with idiots, they bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Winter comes and asks how you spent your summer.....

The game loves and rewards those who love and reward the game

Check out Wichita State's roster please. The negative stigma attached to JuCo players around here is unfair.  Was Travis Wilkins academically challenged?  What about guys like Michael Allen and Mychel Green, were they so bad for the program too? Not all JuCo players turn into Bert and Ernie, and to think that they do is just being narrow-minded.

You are being naive. Tariq was signed and sealed. If JC stays he is delivered withiut a doubt.

And you are underrating Ndour as well. I don't know what you think Tree did that Ndour didnt, but before the back problems Ndour was having a much better year than Tree. If he stays he will be one of the two or three front runners for MAC POY next year.

The Ndour Player of the Year comment is certainly one of the ways he could have gone or will go next year but my opinion was that while he made a difference and is an outstanding player I just felt like he didn't have Tree or McCrea moments like they both did. And as for Tariq, sure he was signed and sealed but I'm saying that, once again, in my opinion, the signs point to him bolting after reaching campus (HELLO JOE MITCHELL!).
