Now that we have out new leader in place, Saul seems to be a players coach and have a lot of respect from fans and the community. Do you believe this might increase attendance numbers without winning a game at Ohio?

I'm not a "local," but it's hard to imagine that this matters as much as people claim. The sense I get is that locals either care about athletics and show up loyally (I sit near plenty like this) or they don't even care Ohio has an athletic department (I have some local friends like this). Having a coach that seems more warm and fuzzy than JC is unlikely to move the needle with either group. Dominating, flirting with a ranking and not losing to a terrible BGSU team at home are the kinds of things that will lead to better attendance.

Being a local, I'd have to disagree with this statement.  John Groce was that and with the help of his wife,  moved the needle considerably in terms of local fan interest.  No offense, but I don't see too many people traveling to Boston to see a BC game or any place close to Athens that they might play.  They do that for Illinois on a regular basis.  I'm guessing the same will happen again if the new guys stays at least three years.

Maybe the people who went to games talked more about the team, but I'm not sure that the numbers really show that Groce caused attendance to increase or that Christian caused it to decrease, at least not to any significant amount.

Few coaches cause enough excitement to have an immediate effect on attendance.  Solich was an exception; maybe Rollie Massimino when he came to Cleve St.  Don't expect Saul to be that big of an attraction right away.  It's what he does with the team that'll make a difference.

We will get by.
We will get by.
We will get by.
We will survive.

If he says hello to people on the golf course, recruits kids from the hollows and doesn't refer to fans as morons then every home game will be a sell out...

I don't endorse the furry lifestyle, but when the Bobkitten is involved things can change mighty quickly...
