Does anyone have a quick history of coaching salary from tos initial salary on? I white he got a bump like groce after the macc. This is becoming a legit place to be. Separating ourselves from the rest of the conference. Note to recruit, run and dominate this thing. Going to the tourney every year is a recurrent dream

Groce - $300,000 (plus he made $55,000 in bonuses his last season)
Christain - $425,000
Phillips - $550,000

From what I remember TOS started at 150k with Ohio with bonus elevator to 250k. Ohio was looking at one on the UNC assistants to come here at the time but wouldn't do it for 150k. Where the salary discussion is interesting is back in 2001 Xavier was paying 700,000 for its men's coach. Flash forward today Saul Phillips is getting 550,000 base which is more than Xavier was paying in 2012  for Chris Mack only 485,000. What the name basketball schools outside of the Big 6 conferences are doing is starting the guys off in the 400-500k range then ratcheting up the pay once they make a run in the NCAA tournament in 800-900k which is what some of the top Atlantic 10 schools are paying. Ohio starting Phillips off at 550,000 is higher than what most MVC and A10 schools would do and about everyone in the new CUSA. We've arrived as a true basketball school finally. There is no arguing it now.

Most Memorable Bobcat Events Attended
2010 97-83 win over Georgetown in NCAA 1st round
2012 45-13 victory over ULM in the Independence Bowl
2015 34-3 drubbing of Miami @ Peden front of 25,086

Wow

Agreed.  This is HUGE.  And why I give big props to President McDavis.  He's walking the talk.  I get crushed on campus  by all sorts of people when I say I think we need to spend about $3-$4 million more on Athletics per year.  This is another big step in the right direction.

Can somebody hit a pull up jumper for me?.....

I feel your pain, Ohio69.  I get crushed at home over this issue.  My wife spent a few decades in the rarified atmosphere of Ellis Hall and two years of retirement hasn't been enough to clear her mind to the point that I can make statement like you just did without encountering all kinds of push back.

I take it that she doesn't appreciate the suggestion that a good chunk of that 3-4 million could be found by raiding Ellis Hall? I mean, not all that much, really, and certainly not a meaningful amount of salary, but they do spend money heating Ellis in the winters, cooling it in the summers, and giving them the gift of artificial lighting. (not to leave anyone with the impression that I thought my English 151 was a joke)
