The CIT is great for getting our players experience.

The biggest benefit may be giving Jim C. the experience of making a run in a tournament other than the MAC Tournament.

I will admit that this is not the NCAA Tournament, but it is still a post season tournament with some quality teams.
Nonetheless, the experience this tournament is giving Jim will pay big dividends in the future.

Finally I am no long on the fence about Jim.  He is clearing the right coach for the Bobcats.

Wouldn't be surprised to learn that Coach C is feeling equal measures of satisfaction and relief at earning his first post-season victories.

I thought you meant he was getting bonuses for each win by your subject, but I think it's helping the players as well.

Nope. Just speculating on Coach C's emotions after getting off the post-season snide.

If you listen to JC whenever he speaks to the public, you get the sense that this isn't about him.  He loves the game.  He believes it is supposed to be played a certain way.  He has his system and his way of doing things.  This has been validated over the years by his success.  I actually do not believe that winning these games makes a difference to him and how he goes about his job.  What has happened,I believe, is that his respect and admiration for these young men has increased immeasurably.  The circumstances and the character of his players has caused him to enjoy this run more than just the fact that they are winning.  His coaching hasn't changed, nor would I expect it to.

I never had anything against Jim C. when we hired him.
Quite candidly I wanted us to hire Jeff Boals.

I am not insinuating that Jim C. has changed his coaching style.

All I am saying is that Jim C. has gotten the post season monkey off of his back, which is huge.

The fact that he has these kids playing so hard in adversity is absolutely amazing.

His first postseason win was the 2012 if we ignore conference tournaments (and I don't know why people do).

Very well stated.   I think coaches and others who love the game get this.
