Congratulations to Nick for becoming the MAC's lone leader in 3-point baskets made. I went to the game, and if you weren't aware of it before the game, you would have had no idea Nick broke a near 20 year old record. Seriously, no chants from the O Zone, no signs, no mention in the bulletin, and unless I missed it when I went to grab a snack at halftime, no announcement from the PA.

So let's give our guy his due. Step up "Bobcatnation"!

Honestly, I was under the impression that he achieved the record against Miami. Wasn't aware he BROKE it until my father texted me during the game.

Either way. Nick is an absolute CLASSIC Bobcat who we maybe take for granted.

He'll always be one of my favorite players to suit in in green and white.

What a day at the Convo.....Wow!

Players like Nick are why we have sports.  It has been a pleasure and an honor to watch him play his college career as a Bobcat.

As a loyal Bobcat since 1993 I have to say that Nick is as good a representative as we've ever had at Ohio University. I appreciate all he has stood for for four years. He is unbelievable and I'm glad he has set this mark.

Really odd that there was no mention of this at the Convo tonight. This is a huge feat.

My son and I always pick "our favorite players" each season.  And each season for the past 4, my choice has been Nick Kellog.  After watching him the first two seasons, then seeing him slump badly late last year, he cemented himself further as "my favorite player" this year with the development of his game.  Initially  I never thought him anything more than spot up shooter, who when guarded tightly, would disappear.  Maybe a "zone buster."  Amazing to see how he's diversified his game and become an all around excellent player who has clearly maximized his abilities.  I miss most Bobcats once they graduate, but I'll miss him next year more than most.  #ClassAct

When N'Dour was first mentioned on this site as a transfer to our beloved Bobcats, I remember reading several posts about him being "an athletic directors dream athlete/student." Being a savvy student as well as a remarkable athlete on the floor. Kellogg is nothing shy of this, a true class act on the floor, and a fantastic representation of what a true Bobcat is and an athlete who did not just attend our University as an athlete first, and student second. Kellogg is a remarkable young man who has made great achievements on and off the court. Congrats Nick! Hope your record stands as long as it took to be broken (or longer!).

They mentioned it during the broadcast and congratulated him when he broke the record.  I am kind of dissappointed that the O Zone didn't acknowledge it.  But either way, congratulations Nick! Definitely one of the top five All-Time Bobcats!

I can't add much more than has already been said.  Class act, fun to watch, easy to root for, and a really quality human being and basketball player.  He's going to be sorely missed.

Question: will Nick play overseas?  I don't ask in doubt of his ability because I think he could play professionally if he wants to do it, my question is more would he want to go to Europe to play?  Any insight from people more "in the know?"

I asked someone about this...I guess the coaches didn't want to call attention to it or provide any additional distraction. All business for a tournament game.

  Right you are.
Since seeing him in the Convo as a freshman in the high school tournaments and hoping he'd choose OU, Nick has been the epitome of what a Bobcat should be:  excellent person, fierce competitor, and solid citizen of the world and university.  Great family, too.

I must also say that I underestimated him. After seeing his game develop and his abilities, it was more of him being unselfish and playing the role the team needed him to fill. He will be greatly missed and in my opinions one of the greatest bobcats I'll have the joy of watching suit up.

He's thinking about it, according to this story from The Post.  He's one guy with his head firmly in place.  He'll do well, no matter he does.

Oh, and I just caught this really nice piece from CBS.  Sorry if it's been posted elsewhere.

Thanks for 4 great years Nick.  What I loved about him on the court the most was shot selection.  I obsess over poor shot selection, but never had a gripe for Nick...He takes the shots he should take.  I was very excited when he committed and have been thrilled to have him ever since.

I hope he stays involved with the program.  I wonder if he has coaching aspirations or broadcast aspirations like his Dad.  I could see both.  But before all that, I think he could be a very valuable player in Europe.

Good, I was really hoping this was the reason. Thanks for the info oldkatz.

He never seemed burdened by his last name, which is quite an accomplishment in itself. He was able to develop into the best player he could be, not trying to fit any mould.

Thanks, I can admit my wrongs most of the time. I have been a reader of the forums for quite some time now. Just now beginning to post. Learning my way through the ranks.
