Sense of humor this year. Wildcats vs wildcats, Wichita vs kstate second round possibility. Interesting ., add to that nc nc central and St joes Villanova as second round matches. Not probable but committee sure had fun with built in geographic dream games

The committee certainly did no favors to Wichita State, or the Midwest Region for that matter. Three Final Four teams from last year are in that region. They also put UK and Louisville in the same region. And they also put the best #2 seed (Michigan) in the region. Put up or shut up time for the Shockers.

My favorite of all has to be Providence. "Hey guys, you just won the Big East, guess who's in your region? Villanova!"

I don't think there are many teams out there that can argue they were snubbed other than maybe SMU. However the seeding this year has blown my mind. Some people were talking about Louisville being a #1 seed this past week and they drop to a #4.

And will someone please step up and tell me how Georgetown was on the list for Last Four Out? They went 17-14. Ok, you beat KSU...at home. VCU...at home. And a Michigan State loaded with injuries...by four. And Providence...at home. Xavier...at home. Creighton..at home. They won exactly two road games all year. TWO. DePaul and Butler, the two worst teams in the Big East.

They say the computer does the matching. I laughed as I saw all sorts of interesting regional match up possibilities that the computer dreamed up. Louisville/UK rematch....even a Mich/Mich State rematch down the line. St Joes /Nova backyard brawl. Just a very weird year in the brackets.

All the RPI  and BPI talk and yet we are no closer to getting the majors out of their arenas before Conference season starts in January. Seems to me that a team like G town that sits back and still underachieves deserves not only to get left out but to have a strong message sent. Colgate might have had a better chance on a neutral or home floor, they at least deserve a return game in a world that was closer to a level playing field. OHIO should be able to host Oklahoma in a return game or at least a twofer. The scheduling is a bear and those majors that do not go on the road need to have some form of weight attached. IU fans and others (including OHIO)complain that they  are tired of playing D2 opponents and really low majors in the pre season at home. Not sure what the alternative is but I think I would like to see at least 50% of your non con games be on the road.

The answer is always $$$$.  I cannot say that I do not like it, though.  As someone who always roots for Ohio teams not named Akron in the Dance, I still find OSU/Dayton more compelling than OSU/Providence.
