THanks Panda

I had met him briefly in  a bar before Butler played an NCAA game. Nice enough gentleman that seemed to know his way around the NCAA and conferences. Just remembered when I read the IUPUI story that he is the man in charge. Meant to ask about him a couple of years back. Doing good things over there...along with his work on IUPUI minor sport facilities he found a new home for the Jags ....should be more accessible so to attract new fans.

If there are schools that need a name change, it's gotta be IUPUI and IPFW (does it hurt to pee FW?).  They may be the only schools in D1 that are subservient to TWO other schools and they're names reflect sort of third-class status.  There's already a U of Indianapolis (it used to be Indiana Central, I think), so they'd have to be creative.  IPFW could change its name to UFW, which sounds like a labor union.  Maybe we should have a renaming contest for them.

Yeah, but it's hard to imagine what the name changes would be.  IPFW could probably get by with Fort Wayne, but IUPUI couldn't use Indianapolis because there is already a Div. II school with that name.

With the right budget and facilities, I'd think the IUPUI job would be a decent one.  In a great city in the heart of HS basketball country.

He was a very enthusiastic and charming individual. I always said that he would be a very good AD for Ohio. His contacts are exceptional, plus he has family that all have athletic administration backgrounds including NCAA and collegiate. Another sports ad guy that will have great success.
