Haven't heard a peep about Ivo and tonight decided to see what he was up to.  Appears he's carrying over his end of junior year & senior year trend in his new pro career.

Too bad Robert Stack and Dennis Farina are no longer with us.  Ivo's last two years at Ohio would make an interesting episode of "Unsolved Mysteries."

End of junior year?  Maybe I am remembering incorrectly, but Ivo hit a lot of clutch shots in Cleveland and in the NCAA tournament for us.  I don't think we get as far as we did without the way he played down the stretch.

Sorry Chicken George but you are misinformed about Ivo's current situation.  I have to stand up for him.

I live in Budapest with a wife who is from Serbia so i get to watch his team often on TV.  Although I do not root for Cedevita (I root for Red Star Belgrade) I have seen them play many times in the ABA league.  This is the regional league that is made up of the former Yugo nations.  It is one of the strongest in Europe.  They are currently sitting in 2nd place which means they will most likely qualify for the EuroLeague which is the most prestigious competition in Europe and the best competition outside of the NBA.  Ivo's team is equal to or better the PAOK where DJ Cooper plays which is also a very strong team.  BTW Cooper is playing outstanding and is getting known as one of the best players plying his trade in Europe right now.

Ivo did a fantastic job to make the team as it was certainly not a guarantee.  He is playing a new position which is small forward.  He hasnt had much of an opportunity to play but has done well with his limited chances.

I think much credit has to go to Ivo for sticking with such a strong team in a strong league.  We see other Bobcats putting up big numbers in Europe or other places abroad but the competition is very low in comparison.

DJ Cooper though is on his way to becoming a Euro legend much like Mr Stonerook was in Italy with Siena.

He might have hit some clutch shots, but overall his production went way down in his junior year from his soph season.  His stats show about 25% fewer ppg (11.4 to 8.7), fewer rpg (6.1 to 5), big drop in FT% (78.3 to 51.2) and FG% (53.5 to 46.8).  He had modest improvements in assists, blocks, steals and personal fouls, and made some threes.  But overall, his junior year numbers dipped.

Thanks for the info Stig.  You sound like an excellent candidate to make a post outlining every former Bobcat playing overseas and how they are doing.  We used to get a lot of info on that but not so much the past couple years.

Here is a link that has all of the past Bobcats overseas: http://basketball.usbasket.com/team/USA/Ohio_University/4...

For Reggie specifically, here are his stats: http://basketball.eurobasket.com/player/Reggie_Keely/Holl...

Seems like Big Regs is doing well but as i said before the Dutch league is different world to Euroleague, Eurocup, ABA League, Greek, Turkish, Spanish, Russian Leagues.   So take the stats with grain of salt.  In my opinion he should be putting up those sort of numbers.

There's a name I haven't seen in a while.  Is Ladrell Whitehead still playing, too?

Cool site.  It looks like this is the complete list of those still playing:

DJ Cooper - Greece (11.6 PPG, 4.4 RPG, 6.3 APG)

Ivo Baltic - Croatia (0.3 PPG, 0.7 RPG, 0.2 APG)

Mychal Green - Luxembourg (24.3 PPG, 8.2 RPG, 4.8 APG) - 38.9 Mins per game....wow!

Reggie Keely - Holland (10.1 PPG, 4.2 RPG, 1.2 APG) - He seems to have stopped playing since November?
Kenneth Van Kempen - Holland (10.8 PPG, 8.4 RPG, 3.5 APG)

Tommy Freeman - Canada - Only has 3 games in Nov listed...If only we had a poster who could fill us in?
Kadeem Green - Canada (10.3 PPG, 7.6 RPG, 0.7 APG)

Steve Esterkamp - Germany (5.7 PPG, 2.8 RPG, 0.5 APG)
Patrick Flomo - Germany (2.9 PPG, 2.9 RPG, 0.1 APG)
Jaivon Harris - Germany (7.8 PPG, 2.8 RPG, 1.8 APG)

Jerome Tillman - Japan (19.3 PPG, 8.4 RPG, 1.3 APG)
Leon Williams - Japan (11.8 PPG, 7.4 RPG, 0.9 APG)
Devaughn Washington - Japan (19.2 PPG, 10.7 RPG, 1.2 APG)

It looks like Terren Harbut, Brandon Hunter, and Anthony Jones all just recently hung up the sneakers.

And now I nominate our euro resident to tell us the levels of each of these leagues.

No wonder Mychal is talking about his career being near its end.

I will only speak about Europe as this is what i know.  I think for Japan you can come to your own conclusions and Canada i think we know who could fill us in on the competition there.  I should point out that Jeremy Fears also plays in Germany and has made a decent career for himself in Europe.

DJ Cooper - Greece (11.6 PPG, 4.4 RPG, 6.3 APG)  --- Really good league, really good team, his team has a few Greek national team plays.  deserves a lot of credit for his success

Ivo Baltic - Croatia (0.3 PPG, 0.7 RPG, 0.2 APG)  ---  I already spoke about this really good team in a really good regional league.

Mychal Green - Luxembourg (24.3 PPG, 8.2 RPG, 4.8 APG) - very weak league

Reggie Keely - Holland (10.1 PPG, 4.2 RPG, 1.2 APG) - This is an average at best European league
Kenneth Van Kempen - Holland (10.8 PPG, 8.4 RPG, 3.5 APG)

Steve Esterkamp - Germany (5.7 PPG, 2.8 RPG, 0.5 APG)
Patrick Flomo - Germany (2.9 PPG, 2.9 RPG, 0.1 APG)
Jaivon Harris - Germany (7.8 PPG, 2.8 RPG, 1.8 APG)--- This is a good but not great European league, but the pay is excellent.

DJ Cooper and Ivo play on the two best teams of any Bobcat.
Germany is in the next step down but still good quality.
The Dutch league is average.
Luxemburg is very weak.
