The next 5 games are against teams with better or the same MAC records as Ohio. This will really be a testing stretch for the Bobcats. Even with the uncertainty in conference play, there's usually some "easy" game to break up the tough games (I know, Miami should've been easy...).

That won't happen until March.

5? I think all 7 will be battles!

The 3 home games WMU, Beefs, and Kan't are MUST wins.

I think we also MUST win 3 of the 5 away games to get the bye we want for the tourney. Maybe get lucky and the balance of the MAC & East at the top we can get there with 2 wins of the 5 remaining away games?

7 straight games of trench warfare it looks to me. I would think that the last charge usually wins trench warfare battles (Lee/Pickett were not in a trench) - and we have been pretty good at last charges lately.............

i can't imagine letting the folks OUr boys play for the next three weeks get 15 point leads will be a good thing. i would love to see the Cats begin to play 40 minutes of ball. they are as good as anyone when playing at their top level. even the Toledo game had several spurts where the Cats simply made poor decisions and did not work the ball inside. The road to the MAC title runs through Maurice Ndour. I love how clutch players have been, but we can't keep digging deep holes and expect to win. get down 15 Wednesday and the Cats may get run out of the gym.

Late charge or not.

I said the next 5 games are vs. teams with the same or better conference records. Yes, all games from here on out will be battles.

I'm looking forward to the level of pandamonium on this board over the next month.

Grabbing 3 out of 7 would be ok, 4 of 7 would be very good.

Anything less than 5 of 7 will bring out the crazies, so brace yourselves.  The storm is coming...

BULLETIN....SEVERE STORM STATEMENT...THE NATIONAL MESSAGE BOARD SERVICE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE STORM WARNING FOR THE FOLLOWING MESSAGE BOARDS....BOBCATATTACK.COM.

CURRENT RADAR INDICATES A STRONG LINE OF GAMES THROUGH MARCH 8 MOVING FROM TOLEDO, OH, THROUGH BUFFALO, NY, BEFORE MOVING BACK TO ATHENS, OH, THEN AKRON, OH, THEN WESTWARD TO AREAS NO ONE REALLY WANTS TO INHABIT...DUE TO THE CHALLENGING NATURE OF THESE GAMES, THERE IS A MODERATE POSSIBILITY THAT THE BOBCATS WILL NOT WIN ALL 7 GAMES...IN THE EVENT THAT THIS HAPPENS, BOBCATATTACK.COM MAY EXPERIENCE SIGNIFICANT DOWNPOURS OF POSTS THAT MAY INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO...FIRE JIM CHRISTIAN....N'DOUR NEEDS TO BE MORE AGGRESSIVE...BEAN WILLIS SHOULD NOT BE PLAYING...WHY DIDN'T CAMPBELL PLAY MORE MINUTES?...ACCUMULATIONS EXPECTED IN THE 2-3 PAGES RANGE.

IN THE EVENT OF THESE DOWNPOURS, SEEK SHELTER IMMEDIATELY...ALSO, THE LATEST REPORTS INDICATE THAT MIAMI STILL SUCKS.

If we lose just 1 half of basketball, we are doomed.

I agree that this stretch is very tough and very key.

Call me crazy, but I think these 7 games are just what Ohio needs going into the MAC Tourney.  Ohio may take it's lumps now (I don't see Ohio finishing the regular season 24-6) but come tourney time Ohio sure will be battle-tested; come mid-March nothing should faze Ohio.

I agree.  Very good satire.  Better than a SNL skit.  I got a very good laugh out of this, which I needed.  Thanks.

Yep...people might get upset about what we say and how we say it. But no other school's fan base has this much passion when it comes to MAC hoops.

@Toledo, @Buffalo, WMU, @Akron, Buffalo.....we get 4 of 5 from this stretch I like our chances of winning the whole shebang. East Division, Regular season title, #1 seed and the tournament. This is the part of the schedule where it will define if we are the top dog or more middle of the pack.  So far we are running just behind the leaders but a couple wins on the road this week starts to swing the odds heavily in our favor. Toledo and Buffalo are two of the best team in the MAC. We get wins on the road this week look for the Bobcats to start to put the hammer down on teams. We haven't played our best basketball yet. Not even close and we are just a game out. This teams found ways to win 4 or five games where we were absolutely buried. MAC had its chance to burry this team and they didn't. We will start to play at a higher level and turn it on. Jimmy will fix those issues on defense and we will be a handful in Cleveland. These close games make us stronger. We are battle tested.

As of today, we wouldn't get the bye. Winning @Buffalo would be HUGE.

Looking at the remaining schedules of the top 5 teams I think it is totally unrealistic to expect a bye, particularly if Stevie is out for any length of time.  Buffalo's schedule (very similar to ours) makes them the only team I could see us catching.

At this point, I agree that "expecting" a bye is unrealistic as we are currently in 5th with the toughest remaining schedule. At the same time, we definitely aren't out of it.

Buffalo still has to play both us and Akron two times. We need to beat them.

Akron still has us once and Buffalo twice. With Akron losing yesterday, we are only 1 back. I think they probably get a bye in the end, but it isn't a lock for them.

With wins yesterday Western and Toledo are clearly in the drivers seat for byes with mostly easy West games left.
