So apparently Dayton got called for an administrative technical foul when the game started due to a violation with the shot clock. (Never heard of that before) Ohio made the FT and ends up winning 52-51. Felder gets a double double with 20 points and 10 boards.

There was a stretch in the fourth quarter that had to have been some of the worst minutes of basketball I'ver ever seen out of financially compensated athletes. Clank clank clank clank.

But, down one with the ball in the closing seconds, smart play by Ella Pope who had an open look at a three, to recognize that the lane was open and she drove in for a gimme go ahead layup.

Then when Dayton had the ball with three seconds left, they tried to quickly isolate Yaya in the post. The dribbler tried go under the basket for either a reverse layup or find a cutter. I forget who it was, but someone saw it and double teamed her just as she turned to face the lane. Kate saw the cutter and deflected the pass that actually ended being our ball out of bounds. Three high level awareness plays in the clutch.

Shot 29.8% and 20.6% from 3 and got out rebounded by 17 and won. How? Dayton didn't shoot all that well either committed 11 more turnovers and Ohio made 8 more free throws.

The Dayton pregame radio show said the administrative tech was called because Dayton had 3 shotclock lights on their backboards. According to the announcer, a recent rule change mandated that schools have only one light, but Dayton didn't get the word, and couldn't make the change before gametime. Doesn't quite seem right to award a free throw for such a petty infraction. Not that I'm complaining.

That fourth quarter looked like two shorthanded teams trying to survive the game. Dayton has been playing short all season, and their leading scorer was injured and did not dress tonight. Ohio's Kendall Hale, who had such a good game against Indiana State, was absent tonight. And just 3 minutes into tonight's game, Abby Garnett got knocked down, hobbled off the court, and did not play the rest of the game. Ohio basically played 6 for the rest of the game, although Cassidy Lafler had a good 2 minutes, scoring on an in-bounds play and blocking a shot.

The Bobcats stay on the road, traveling to DC on Friday for a game against George Washington.

Dayton is now 0-7 and could easily have won that game. It was brutal to watch.

Is it just me or do a few of our players look out of shape?

It sure looked to me like the Ohio player last touched that ball.
