Well, it's official! I'm heading to Croatia this Sunday to play for Cedivita for a 4 year contract!

Congrats to Ivo, but I have to say this...

Wow, Ted. Real professional of you deleting the thread starting by another poster. Is there a rule saying only you can post actual news about the teams?

The moderators have always tried to keep identical topics to one thread which I personally have always appreciated. If I had to guess, Ted's post was just before the other post.

I can admit, I know nothing of the D League. Do the D League players make roughly the same amount of coin as a player on a good Euro league team? I'm just wondering if the dollar figures will make overseas more/too enticing for DJ.

D-League offers less money but more NBA eyes. Most 10-day contracts, for example, are given to D-Leaguers.

Here's some info on D-League Salaries per Marc Stein of ESPN....YIKES

"Salaries remain flat: $25,500, $19,000 and $13,000 for the league's three player classifications. Which means D-League players are virtually playing for free -- and a modest per diem on the road of $40 compared to $120 in the NBA -- although they do receive housing and insurance benefits. It was also brought to my attention this week that the D-League quietly does have a per-team salary cap of $178,000 ... with a dollar-for-dollar luxury tax, just like in the NBA, for teams that go over that amount."

WHile D league players are eating and living on their dime, Euro players have housing provided, free health care and rehab, 2 meals a day and a team car/fuel plus a few more perks depending on the team and league they are part of.... Not paying for anything but breakfast and incedentals.

It occurred to me that Baltic has a huge advantage over Keely, or DWash. The euro clubs are always looking for bigs (not necessarily skilled bigs either) Guards are a dime a dozen and very plentiful but Bigs are hard to find. Add in that He does not count against the Foreign Players on the roster due to his citizenship and he is a rare find for A Euroleague team. He will get compensated as a native (higher) than his US counterparts who are finding work over there as long as he stays in countries where his citizenship does not make him an import player.

No...still negotiating Contracts

Yes...bunch over there now as was part of Groce's plan to bring in guys who were able to play at the next level, ostensibly though, Mychal Green, Leon and Rome were TOS recruits....before someone jumps to correct.

They're all TOS recruits except for Ivo and Keely.
