Message Not Read  Bobcat Attackers in Ohio Bobcat Club?
   Posted: 3/23/2013 8:54:29 AM

A little background here on this post...

I am a long time Bobcat fan who has regularly followed these message boards.  Living in Cleveland makes it difficult to get down to campus much.  But I watch, read, and follow the Cats as much as I can and very appreciative of Bobcat Attack, even if some of the postings are a bit ridiculous.  Last year, I joined the Ohio Bobcat Club, and earlier this year, I became an Ohio Bobcat Club representative.  There are about 100 or so volunteer OBC reps who serve as ambassadors to Bobcat fans, answer questions about games/events, and try to generate support for the athletic program.  In NE Ohio, there are only like 5 people volunteering in this role, which is surprising given the number of alums in the areas.  I have created a facebook site for my contacts/friends to follow news about the Bobcats.  I post pictures from games I attend and links to articles that I read on Bobcat Attack and on other sites.  If you are on fb, feel free to like my page: http://www.facebook.com/StobesOhioBobcatClub

This leads me to my curiosity...

My wife recently asked me..."are all those people on the chat boards you follow a part of the Bobcat Club?"  In thinking about it, I do not recall seeing many posts about this in the past, but I would hope our most ardent fans on BA are also giving some level of financial support to our athletic department.  With Bobcat Club memberships starting at $50, it is really a nice way to support the Bobcats while earning ticket priority for Bobcat games.  I was able to purchase NCAA tickets last year in Nashville and St. Louis and also attended the Penn State game thru buying tickets via the Bobcat Club.

I am curious if any folks on the message board have gotten involved becoming a Bobcat Club representative and recruiting other friends and alums.  With little effort, I have signed up six new Bobcat Club members the past couple months. For more information on the OBC, you can message me or follow this link: http://www.ohiobobcats.com/bobcatclub

I can't say that I am a member just yet. I'm still looking for a job in the field that I want my career to be, and that would require me to move within the next year. I know it sounds crazy, but I wanted to wait until that happened so I could jump right in and become an ambassador in the area I end up (Actually hoping it's Cleveland). Although I'll probably end up joining during the summer anyway.

I am a member. See the thread about the Bobcat Challenge. This is a fun way to make a donation in based on your own "challenge" to the team. A Bobcat Challenge exists for both BB and FB.

My challenge in BB this year was $.50 for the following formula up to 20 wins and $1 after 20 wins:
(Assists+steals-turnovers)

The result will be my donation amount to the Bobcat Club.

Been a member since it was founded.

I wish they would have some type of Bobcat Rep. program for those of us in New Jersey.

There are a lot of Bobcats out here and N.J. could be a good recruiting area in a number of sports.

I just joined last year and mailed my $125 annual contribution Friday.

Went to Nashville last year and foolishly purchased stub hub tix. I was smart enought to use the Club for STL tickets in the Ohio section, my wife and I had a fabulous weekend. I went to my first MAC tourney this year, felt it was my duty to show my appreciation to the senior class (and the entire 2012-13 squad). CLE is a great setup for the MAC tournament, I highly recommend all OUr fans make it there sooner rather than later.

I have three teens and work/fall sports commitments make it very difficult to get to Peden. But, come hell or high water I will make it to at least one game this fall in order to introduce my clan to the 110 and the football team.

I've been in the OBC since it was started, as well as one of the original Bobcat Reps. There are many of us on this board.

Been a Bobcat Club member since it began.

I too wish we could have some Bobcat Club representatives outside of the State of Ohio/Pittsburgh?
