I don't want anyone to read this post as pessimistic about the future. But I hope we all stop and take a second to enjoy the view, because this may not be a perch we enjoy forever.

We're back in the MAC Tournament finals, hoping to secure our third title in four years and fourth in the last nine years. That's a pretty strong run, folks. Regardless of the NCAA Tournament success, it's something special to get into the Big Dance every other year or so. Check the history books -- this isn't something that happens at OU all the time.

This has been a SPECIAL group of Bobcats, particularly the seniors, and before we get too caught up in the moment tomorrow night, I want to publicly thank them for all the wonderful memories they have given us. Win or lose, we have so much to be thankful for.

We all hope this has been the kind of sustained success that can translate into a permanent dominance of the conference, or whatever. But nothing is guaranteed. All we know for certain is that these boys have won a lot of basketball games in recent years and done our university proud.

I'm hoping like heck for (at least) one more victory, but no matter what happens against Akron, I truly appreciate the service these young men have given OU. Now everyone, please get to the Q tomorrow and STAND UP AND CHEER for them! I'll be there +2.

Go Ohio!!!

I get goosebumps every time I watch them play and want to cry when I realize that it's one less time we'll see this group on the floor.  My consolation is that next year's team should be almost as good; Stevie and Jon have really come of age this season, and hopefully Nick, TJ, Wilkins and the new bigs will really complete the picture.  It's not too much of a stretch to expect to be right back here next year.

Agreed. And the MAC's best (Akron and Kent especially) also lose many of their key cogs. I think we'll be fine - but man oh man, are these guys special. And DJ...well he is just on another level.

Record setting senior class. All over. I'm only a freshman, but I have seen them every game this year and I'm just so sad and happy. DJ F*%#$%^* COOPER. I have more respect for him than anyone other basketball player in college basketball or OHIO history. He will truly be my favorite player for years to come, and damn the NBA recruiters who don't take a chance on this kid. He had 9 points and 8 ASSISTS in the first 15 minutes?? Well enough of Cooper, Offutt also had a double-double who just has a nose for the ball, and Keely who has had a tremendous shooting percentage. Also a shout-out for Kellogg for going 3-4 behind the arc. Jon Smith also did well for 19 minutes and grabbed 6 rebounds and had 6 points. I unfortunately have to work tomorrow till 9pm, so I will miss the game but I hope. I hope these guys can pull it off so I can see them play on live television next Thursday/Friday. GO BOBCATS, and I love these guys. World class.

Record it if you can.  Apparently the ESPN families won't be rerunning it.
