Just saw a Facebook post saying only 1,700 tickets are left for the Portland game. That is unbelievable! I didn't think we'd see a crowd like the Miami/Gary Trent game for a long time - turns out that it only took less than a year. Cannot wait to see this and get the banner in the rafters!

Well it helped they did the same ticket pricing promotion that they did for Gary Trent's game.  Plus of course raising a Sweet 16 banner is pretty much just as an important event as Gary's recognition.

So what? At this point, it still takes a massive promotion/advertising effort to fill the Convo. And that's OK. Hopefully we get to the point someday where it's a more common occurrence, but until then - it's going to take some serious "smoke and mirrors". They have advertised the absolute heck out of this game...it seems to me much more so than even the Gary Trent day.

Still, there are only maybe 40-50 basketball programs in the country that have the ability to draw a crowd of 12,000+. We're one of them - and that's pretty neat.

If we play like I think we should, I expect quite a few legit 10,000+ games this year.

The fact that it's Dad's Weekend with no corresponding home football game doesn't hurt either.

Regardless, there's no place better when that Convo's packed and loud!  A sellout two years in a row is a great thing and you're right-there aren't many mid-major hoops programs that can sell out a 13,000-14,000 seat venue.

Going to be in Tampa for Mom's 86th this weekend. Will there be a TV feed for this game available on-line?

Since this game isn't televised it would be safe to assume that you can watch this game from OHIO's internet feed like usual.

Maybe the ticketing office is trying some sales tactics, but I was just able to buy two $12 tickets.

Huh? You must be looking at the wrong game. They are holding back some for students and dads (read the full release), but there's nowhere close to 3,726 available on the seating map...

The Ohio athletic department came out with an article saying they only had 1,300 tickets left that weren't reserved for students or dads on Saturday.

The student support should easily reach the expectation of seats reserved for them on Saturday.

Football has tamed excitement for basketball on campus....  Up until now.

Students are quickly remembering that little Sweet Sixteen run and the fact that we bring back EVERYONE.

Students will be out Saturday.  What is the over/under on what we average this year.  Semesters, this team and this schedule feels like a perfect storm.

My guess is that despite the big crowd, the noise level will not be that great tomorrow.  Remember, it's Dad's Weekend and it's usually not a raucous crowd.

Ozone, step up and make it loud and raucous!!  Make Portland sorry they walked in the Convo!

They're pretty sweet!  And the article lied.  The last one was in 2006, haha, there's a youtube video of it.

The decibel level from the lower seats isn't too far off from some rock concerts, either.

If I recall some nice individuals and businesses bought up the leftover $1 tickets a day before for the Gary Trent game and tried to give them away last time.
