I figured there may be a substantial increase....but to get the all-time record at this point is VERY impressive! There was certainly a proactive effort to get renewals earlier (seeing as how I got 4 some reminder calls...yes, I procrastinate!!), which I'm sure has opened it up to new customers even more.

Let's keep it going!!!

Absolutely effffffing ridiculous

2 hours on ths website trying to order tickets. Somehow the ticket order gets me two seperate sets of seats, probably my fault but I want to back out one set and find. I can''t cancel just one set of seats I have to cancel the whole order

. When I log back in it takes me back to the order I just cancelled. Over and over we do this  Ridiculous dance with the website. It finally  ends with me calling the number at the bottom of the splash page. I listen to the recording and say "purchase tickets" as directed. I get a voice that no matter what I yell at it say s "Do you want Dustin FOrd?: over and over and over......I assume Dustin is no longer checking his voicemail so  I hang up and repeat the process asking me if I want  a lady maned WOrkman. Next time I very succinctly say I want to Purchase Tickets ennuciating in my best calm voice. It transfers me to the voicemail of the equipment manager whom I love dearly talking to at hte Cats Eye but dont want to bother him with my current dillemma of wanting to remove one set of tickets from a pending order. so I hang up and vent loudly to an empty house.

I am amazed this fanbase even exists. I f I were a casual fan I would move on and say Screw it. GOod thing us Bobcat fans are resilient and tolerant.

I had someone call me to remind me to renew my tics a couple weeks ago - said "Dude, I bought them 2 months ago"! The website has issues, somehow I got lucky and it all worked better this year - 1st time ever though. I am awaiting the typical screw-up they seem to have every year w/my parking pass............WHY do they do the parking pass SEPERATE from the tic order????? Should all be one time process............

Still comes down to game by game tics - Pretty big "grey" area there.....................

If we start out w/an exciting game that ends w/decisive win, and keep on a roll, I am sure the momentum will build thru the year.

Borna - What time of day was this happening?  Just curious.  What a mess.

Maybe call first thing in the morning.  That's what I usually try to do and it seems to work.

I didn t know you could do the parking pass seperate. I was always told I had to buy season tics to get a parking pass. I said MY SON PLAYS HERE WHY WOULD I NEED TO BUY TICKETS! It is one of the few perks I am afforded at the end of each 4 hour drive from Muncie but I am willing to pay for a season parking pass. THey said you need season tics to get a parking pass. interesting that you say it is a seperate purchase.

Now he is gone and I want to buy tics instead of calling ahead each week to get my name on the list or hitting up other parents for extra tics but it is just ridiculous to deal with the system that is in place, that is why I did not buy season tics for football this year...... I have no problem paying for tickets or  parking but I will be finding a space up at Court Street again and walk down if it is going to continue to be getting harder as it has each year to support the Cats.

Like my  association with GTE MObilnet since 1986 that resulted in my  current Verizon package.... I have never wavered in my loyalty I just want it fixed. Cmon Bobcats I  want to stay loyal....just fix it.

Parking is directly tied to Ohio Bobcat Club membership. You have to be a member of OBC and a season ticket holder to get a parking pass. If you don't park uptown, might I suggest you don't drive Tommy's white truck to the Convo and park without a pass. :(

Our online order system is BAD. The only time I use it is when I'm playing around to see how many tickets are left. Beyond that, I always just pick up the phone.

One thing I've learned from doing this is that someone will give you a call if you logged in online and do not make a purchase. So Borna, I would expect a call tomorrow morning!

Well that would be good . Then I can explain why I cancelled the order and tried again over and over and over. I just hope only one call comes and not one for each time I tried from several people working on different terminals.

I prefer to use websites and do much of my stuff at night and on weekends which is why I want this thing to work. I am much too busy during the day to mess with sitting and talking to someone when I can handle most of it on my own at home after hours.

THanks for the heads up, I will be calling as soon as I drop my lil one off at jr high....not that I expect anyone to be there till later when I am already started on my day. ....but I will leave the phone on and have someone get me when it rings.  Does anyone know the actual hours they are open>?

I'd suggest you call the "ticket sales team" number...they have much more extended hours than the ticket office (I know they work until at least 8 pm, not sure how early they start). I've worked with Madelyn on several things and she is very helpful...740-593-9687.

Agreed! In particular, I've been very impressed with my interactions with the new sales team. They're the ones who make the out-bound calls (renewal reminders, thank-you's, etc.). The ticket office (the 800 number) is always a bit lacking in customer service....usually seem poorly trained with the occasional tinge of "do I really have to be here?". It's nice that I now have a dedicated line/contact I can call with questions.

I'm not sure what the problem is with the online system.  Every time I use it it's very easy and not hard AT ALL to use.  It pretty much walks you through step by step.  It doesn't take a genious to do it, which obviously you guys think its nice to bash an athletic department that is understaffed and having great succes with working with what they have.  It's you guys that will never be pleased with anything, will threaten to never buy tickets again just to act tough like you know everything how athletic departments operate, then will still show up at every game and cheer.  It amazes me how negative you guys can be when we are at our highest success in program history.  Complain complain complain.  I guess the other THOUSANDS of online orders by customers went fine except for yours.  Sounds like a user issue to me.

In fairness, it doesn't take a genius. However, have you ever tried to order tickets through another school or pro team? Ours is vastly more complicated and outdated. There's big room for improvement....

You both have very valid points. We are a team on the rise, we are experiencing unprecedented sales volumes, it WILL take time to adjust.

All things considered: Ohio Athletics needs to capitalize on this opportunity. This means (at least) offering a product that is competitive with other programs. If a product (in our case sports entertainment) is more complicated to obtain than our competitors, the consumer will go elsewhere. Get it right, right now. It's a bottom line business, aye Frank.

Yeah , that s the ticket.

I am an old curmudgeon that delights in bashing the athletic department.

Not that I made 137 games on the road and at home and experienced every athletic department at every arena and kept track of what we do well.

I carefully noted that I stayed with my mobile phone company since 1986 and merely kept asking them to fix it as I did in the post above to the athletic department.

I continue to support the Bobcats even though my son is gone. How many parents does anyone see coming back after their kid has graduated? HOw many of the folks actually drive to BG, Toledo MI to support the Cats minor and olympic teams on the road?

YOu are out of line. It may be user error. It should be easier to back one set of tickets that you do not want out. I consider myself marginally educated. I figure if I can fly an airplane and perform some of the other functions of my daily life which includes 40-50 encounters in a computer documenting things on a daily basis I should be able to easily navigate a website. I have replaced most of my trips to CHicago and Indianapolis to shop with online ordering. Our site does not support that.

I did not threaten to leave the Bobcats and I am not a bandwagon fan who is here merely because we are in a time where I am here because of tthe success. I toted posters, schedules and got players to sign them for kids and fans wherever the Bobcats went. I still grab schedules and giveaways for Bobcats fans who I may see in Indy or wherever and turn them on to tune in radio and the website in order to promote the brand. ... And FYI I have quietly discussed and suggested things for years to no avail. I have been in the offices underneath the Convo and up on the main concourse and on the phone without seeing things change to make the gameday experience better and MORE accessible. Parking is getting more draconian and I understand the students working have a job to do and are told to be unyeilding to the point you can;t even drop Grandma off by the back door of the Convo even if you give them your drivers license to hold till you come back. . I understand that change comes slowly to Athens but I attend games all over from the grade school level to the CHicago Stadium , Conseco and Lucas Oil. You can try to make me seem like a prick with an axe to grind but I am merely a frustrated Bobcat fan who wants things to get better and has not seen that despite hints and one on one suggestions to those in the positions to make change happen.

It is exactly at this time of unprecedented growth that we should be tweaking and responding to the surge by making our systems better and ensuring that the experience is graeat and makes these new fans bobcats for life.  .

I've had season tickets since '95 and am far from being an athletic dept. basher, but I've encountered my fair share of trouble with our ticket office over the years and this year was no exception. So I feel your pain.

My Bobcat Club Rep got everything straightened out for me. Borna... if you know a rep, I would contact him/her instead of going through the ticket office. If you'd like the name and number of the person who helped me, let me know and I'll pm his contact info.

This year, I never got a ticket renewal form. I moved last winter and figured they were still using my old address (although I'd given them the new one). Called the ticket office, made sure they had the correct address, and asked for a new form to be sent. I received nothing. Some weeks later I got an email thanking me for renewing my tickets, but showing a balance due for the total amount. Days after that, I got an email from my Bobcat Club Rep reminding me that the ticket renewal deadline was coming up. So I emailed him back, he was very helpful and friendly, and fixed everything. (fingers crossed)

Anyone that wants me to be their Bobcat Rep can send me a PM.  Borna is right about some of the issues.  They occur with growth and need fixed.  We really do have people that care working in the Convo, but I think sometimes they do not even know there is a problem.

I am going to call the department and alert them there is not an option to purchase single game away tickets either.  I am probably going to the Robert Morris game and wanted to buy the tickets through our site.  It's not as frustrating for me personally since I am a Bobcat Rep and live close enough to Athens to just stop by when I am in town on business.  I'll bring up some of these issues to those that can affect change.

Called several times this morning starting at 8 and got a pre recorded message on all the numbers I had access to including the one for Madelyn. Finally left a message at 832 and received a call back at 923 with a message that they were swamped wtih homecoming requests. Talked with  David Newman who was genuine and acknowledged the problems and that he had seen that I had logged on several times.

I told him I had got my tix ordered at 845 ish by making a new ID a starting the process from scratch as everytime I used my original ID it took me back to 2 sets of tickets despite backing out the cache, clearing cookies and Temporary Internet files on a deskktop and 2 laptops. He acknowledged that I now have more than one ID ( I suspect I have more than that from years gone by but when I do a search for a forgotten ID I do not seem to exist) and verified my mailing address stating that Tix would be mailed the 22nd of October this year. I told him that was good as I distinctly remember years where friends were picking them up at will call because they would have crossed inthe mail on the way to the first game.

I get the distinct impression that they are swamped and thanked him for his help. I understand the poblems with websites as I continuously ask our webguy why we can't do this and make the business run better on my end and from the other end.

Nice recovery and hopefully some of the concerns get addressed, I am sure he would like them to go better as his day would be infinitely easier not putting out fires caused by a system that does not do what it needs to. ....now to relax and hope my BP goes back down before my physical next week. Frustrating to say the least. Very fixable in the big scheme of things.

We probably all know that they heart of solving problems like this is having staff who take responsibility and follow up and feel responsible..even if that follow up is some ways down the road because of being swamped with stuff.
