With our recent success and pretty significant alumni base, how don't we at least have a partial TV deal with someone?  There is not a game on TV until after the new year?  Unacceptable!!  Why can't we get a deal with the likes of a network like WWHO in Columbus?  Maybe I am way off base here, but it seems it we want to build our brand against the big programs, don't we have to have an outlet for current fans to watch, not to mention for prospective fans to get to know the program?  Thoughts?

I think a lot of this was covered with the TV thread below. That said, I am really good with the webcasts from OUr home games and the ability to hook my TV into the computer. So much so that I purchased a now defunct Google TV unit on Amazon in the hopes that I can just let it tune in and use my Monitor to play the games. Cost me 79 bucks at the time and comes with a killer Blue Ray player and HDMI outs. Works with wirelss and lets me surf the web with a nifty remote. AND IT"S FREE compared to Horizon league TV  or any of the other conference sponsored or University sponsored links even within our conference that charge to view.

I don't particularly need an announcer or instant replay to watch this as game films I am used to look pretty much the same as what is on our feed. Withthe Pic in Pic feature you can be in the internet chat room on a 37 inch or bigger TV and watch the game at the same time.....that way you can have Love, Lande71, SBH or Tim Burke or any other BA'ers giving you their play by play and thoughts as you watch.....WOW! what a community we can have!

That said, you have a point. As we grow OUr brand it needs to get to more markets and bigger. As much as Butler has accomplished inthe last 10 years they still have a hard time getting on TV. I am not holding my breath. WNDY in Indy is not what I would call main stream and does not give Buttdog alums far and wide the exposure they would like.

Thanks for your input.  I personally listen to some games on 105.5, and I have watched a few games on the webcast, but it's very frustrating to have to watch the buckeyes ( or any other team) all the time at a bar or when you're hangin with buddies when there is a very suitable alternative that I happen to be very fond of that is not on TV.

You will get no argument from me.... I regularly listen to and thank Russ and ROb for their presence via ohiobobcatsradio@aol.com as they are really doing a great job for us on 105.5 and the website giving us great insight and play by play pre/post and during the game. Whether you like them or not you only need to go to other University sites and listen to what amounts to rank amatuers in comparison doing their team games. I have been known to have an earplug in listening on my droid at a function while my buds have ND, PU or IU on the TV.

keep the faith, be thankful for what we got and keep pushing for more.

Gotta have interest from the other end, and at this point we don't.

Also, just to correct a couple of things: we are on TV twice before the new year, both on the road: @ Memphis (CBS Sports Network) and @ Oklahoma (their Sooner Sports Network -- many, but not all of these made it to ESPN3/FullCourt last year).  I have a half-done draft of the conference's package... need to finish that up.  Actually three times if you count @UMass, but that one is on CBS in Springfield, Mass, which isn't much good to anybody in Ohio.

Also, Horizon League Network's stuff is all free to stream -- that conference is a big leader in that arena, IMO (and I believe has some new equipment to show off this season).

I wonder if the NHL lockout will free up some air time.

Can somebody hit a pull up jumper for me?.....

That s great. MY friends were bitching because they were going to have to pay to have access. I Guess enough noise got that rescinded. Thanks for the info. I have not gone over there for a while as I believed it was now a pay site. Rotnei Clark and Kellen Dunham will be pretty awesome to see on the floor. 3 balls gonna be flying.

Nice to have the info on Sooner network and the MAss games as those are pretty far trips for a many folks.

NHL has a contract with NBC Sports Network, who in the past hasn't had a contract with anyone in the NCAA but the MWC.

So it will change nothing for anyone.

I'd never heard anything to that effect about
HLN - not that it may not have been on the table. Here's the article I was referencing http://sportsvideo.org/main/blog/2012/09/20/horizon-leagu.../

Edit: found something about them charging $5 a game for men's basketball tournament in '09, but appears short lived.

They actually have inked new contracts for some CAA and A10 basketball, as well. They also have some college hockey rights. So they have a little more now, but obviously there won't be any MAC home games there.
