Sorry, I messed up. There are actually 44 ranking systems averaged, not 15. So the poll numbers are not correct and they can't be edited. So guess the the 10 year period. e.g. 20-29, 30-39, etc. You may also want to guess OHIO's best and worst rankings from the 44.

I'll provide answers next week.

Jeff, it's a bit confusing. I first thought I was averaging 15 ranking systems, then realized there were actually 44. The numbers in the poll reflect only the 15 systems, and the correct average for OHIO is not one of the choices in the poll when all 44 systems were averaged.

So do it this way: for example, if you think OHIO's average ranking from the 44 ranking systems is between 20-29, then pick 29 in the poll. If you're correct that's it's between 20-29, the right answer might be a  different number than 29.

Hope that helps.

What ranking systems?

OHIO’s average from these 44 ranking systems was 48 out of 345 schools.

This 2011-12 compilation and averaging was done by Kenneth Massey, “College Basketball Ranking System”.  Massey’s two systems, incidentally, had us at 49 and 32.

I never of heard of many of these ranking systems frankly, including the one that ranked OHIO highest, DeSimone at 18th. USA Coaches Poll was next highest at 25. Our lowest rankings were from Seven OT and Reid, both at 76. Of the more well known systems, Dunkel and Sagarin both had us at 55, and RPI had us at 42. Some amazing differences among some of these systems and it would be interesting to examine the criteria they used to arrive at these rankings.

Here are some other rankings that may be of interest to OHIO fans:

North Carolina-5

Memphis-18

Michigan-22

Cincy-26

OHIO-48

Xavier-50

S. Florida-52

WVU-54 (take that Chuggy Bear!)

UMass-63

St Bonnies-68

Illinois-74

Dayton-76

Marshall-79

Akron-80 (2nd in MAC)

Buffalo-98 (only other MAC team to break 100)

TCU-133

W. Carolina-217

UNC-Wilmington-243

CMU-263 (last in MAC)

Bradley-266

Winthrop-274

Maryland E. Shore-325

Bryant-341

OSU- who cares?
