Appears Christian's agent worked out a much better deal for the number of required appearances as compared to Solich.  Christian hits less than half and Solich all but one?  I'm sure it has something to do with recruiting periods/travelling...blah...blah...blah...   I know that in Parkersburg, no matter what date they've chosen, we've never seen the basketball coach, but have never missed Frank.  And this year Parkersburg specifically chose to have the last caravan as compared to the first, thinking the date change would give (then) Groce a better chance of making his first appearance.  Guess not.

I was told the coach list isn't at all finalized yet. I would expect to see JC appear at a few more events than what is listed here. I will try to keep thei list updated if I hear of changes from those organizing the stops.

Was at the Columbus caravan tonight - fun event - just under 200 there I would estimate. I like everything about my initial impressions of JC in a Bobcat crowd. Very personable. Straight shooter.  Determined yet humble.

I actually got to talk/listen to Coach quite a bit last night just by random chance of where he ended up standing most the time.  Very witty, funny, and all around socially gifted.  Kind of the opposite of Frank, who is about as socially awkward as they come.

I agree on the comments about Frank, but we did note that he has gotten better with the microphone at the Caravan over the years.  A few years back wasn't nearly as interesting as last night.

Complete agreement on Jim's time talking with people.  Definitely put me a little more at ease about the change. And as said before - a complete straight shooter.  You can see how he'll do well on the recruiting trails.

Thursday night we were at Chillicothe with a larger than expected turnout of about 75.  That's excellent for Chillicothe.
The coaches did a nice job speaking.  I got to have some conversation with Coach Christian and it was very enjoyable.

All in all, it was a good evening.

That 200 turnout for Columbus is strong.

I'd like to attend the Toledo event but I'm not sure I can make it by 6:00. What do I miss if I don't get there until 6:30 or even 7:00?

Based on Columbus Caravan I would say the presentations won't start until 6:30 - Schaus 1st, Thank You's, Intro, expected $ pitch, then coaches. Just go.......Say Hi to Gus Mancy, great guy (tell him from Rob the "Penfolds" guy).

AD JS in Cleveland said, "JC had two recruits visiting" and then tongue in cheek said that, "JC will be in my office if he doesn't get them both" for opting out of the Cleveland engagement.

It is amazing how we are being noticed these days.  Both Channels 5 and 8 had clips about the Bobcat Caravan on the sports last night.  Both had reporters talking to Frank.  Allie LaForce works for 8 so she might have influenced them some.  Both stations were very positive about Ohio sports the last year.  I hope Jim Christian makes it to Akron this week for our stop.  I have been to all of them and have enjoyed talking to everyone.  Also, in response to the thread about dropping football to a lower division - I like both sports and do not think you can have good programs unless they both compete in the same division.  When people talk about Dayton still having football, I laugh because it is a joke.  Has anyone ever dropped divisions and still been relevant?  The money savings is not that much unless you completely drop football.   For all the dislike of the MAC, I have to say that living in Akron it works out great for me.  Three hours from Athens, one football game each fall in the area and two chances to watch live basketball.  All the other sports have reasonable travel budgets and I think you have to accept it for what it is.  Win the MAC in football and basketball 3 out of the next 5 years and then we can talk about changing conferences.
