Hi all,
I am not a regular poster at all but am a huge Ohio hoops fan (Ohio '01 & '04) and a regular reader on this board. I can empathize with many of you who are experiencing college basketball withdrawal this time of year. I also know some of you participate in fantasy basketball leagues during the season.

I wanted to gauge any level of interest out there in setting up a competition among bobcattackers next college hoops season within a season long college basketball pool that I have participated in since I was an OU undergrad.

The concept is novel to other fantasy leagues: participants choose an 11 team roster of D1 teams (not individual players), each team having a preset "cost", one team from each of the six BCS conferences must be selected, the other five teams can be from any conference (or an independent). The roster cannot exceed the "cost" of $100. Points are given for non-conference wins, conference wins, conference tournament championships, NCAA wins, etc. Standings are updated through the website daily. A balanced roster of teams, with successful high, mid and low major programs often performs the best. It encourages participants to follow teams and conferences that they typically would not have any vested interested in following.

Simply put, it is just a lot of fun. It's only flaw, in my opinion, is that the pool has gotten so large that the excitement of the pool can wane if you are far from being in the top 5%, to which the payouts are given.

I'd like to propose that we form our own pool within this season long pool. We could use a specific hashtag in each of the bobcatattack entries to keep track of where we stand. Each participant would have to contribute ($10?) to our separate pot. I would be willing to coordinate this if there is interest. The hashtag would only be given to paid participants.
