What if we had a coach who won the MAC championship and took us deep into the NCAA tournament?

Next season.

Then he or she decides to capitalize and move on to a 'bigger' job because, you know, he's a hot commodity and wants to take advantage of his immediate leverage.

What are you going to post in your spur of the moment, overly emotional 90 page threads then?

Anyone else find it Ironic that a band that owes a huge part of their early existence to CHampaign and U of I shows up here? I know I saw them both in Dekalb and Champaign at the Red Lion.

I'd rather we get the best possible man to coach next year's team. The inclusion of a "HUGE" buyout clause will probably be a disincentive for some of the best and brightest to come to Athens. In my opinion we should do everything we can to get the very best and the very brightest. Should we include a buyout? Sure. Should it be at a level that makes people think twice to coach here? Absolutely not.

I've said it before in other threads, but this program is in much better shape when our coaches leave to take jobs like Illinois instead of ones like Bryant.

It is a problem that I will be happy to face if we should be so fortunate.

Given the ending of every predecessor since Nee, we should take a moment to realize that this current scenario is far more enjoyable.

I'm not saying that's bad. Just wondering how people here feel about that.

I suppose an alternative path is the GotFrank way--get a solid, older guy who'll settle in for his last runs.
