The Bobcats punched their ticket to the NCAA Tournament for the second time in three years after it defeated Akron 64-63 in the 2012 MAC Championship title game. Ohio enters the tournament with a school-record 27-7 record, surpassing the previous mark of 25 wins set by the 1993-94 squad.

It's not about "Bobcats" or "OU." It's about calling our school by its name, which is Ohio. I REALLY hope Michigan State starts calling themselves Michigan, since it's petty and all, who cares.

And to switch around the posted article, here is what it would sound like if Urban Meyer were doing the same thing: _________________________________________ Meyer has called the Wolverines "Eastern Michigan" since he was a 10-year-old in Flint, Michigan. He started doing it to irk buddies, who were Wolverine fans, he said. Even then, growing up in the heart of Michigan, he was an Ohio State fan.
He never gave it up. And, after refusing to use "Michigan" in a news conference after his hiring, it has become more or less institutionalized at Ohio State. "Eastern Michigan" was used on the scoreboards at the Horseshoe and Value City Arena. Fans chant "Let's beat Eastern," rather than the old refrain "Beat Mich -i - gan." ________________________________________ Would Michigan Fans care? Probably not. But tell me Eastern Michigan wouldn't take that as a slap in the face. I'm going to call you "Eastern Michigan" to irk you? Eroc, Ohio University hasn't been inconsistant at all about what they request the media refer to us as. The request in our media guide is to refer to us as Ohio or Ohio University, not Ohio U. or O.U. The Bobcats is perfectly acceptable. Fans of opposing teams call us many other names as well. That's all in good fun. And honestly, I don't really buy the 10 year old story. Mr. Hoke coached at Ball State where he was unsuccessful against Ohio. He knows us well. Calling Ohio State, "Ohio" wouldn't "irk" any 10 year old in Dayton, Ohio.
