Seem like good fits. That should be (continue to be) an extremely strong league. If we moved anywhere, that to me would be the best fit, if football could find a home or stay put.

The idea is that the A-10 gets multiple bids to the tournament. But if the tournament doesn't expand, the league likely doean't get even more bids by adding additional teams, since there are still only so many open spots for the non-big money conferences. When you add teams to your league, the chances for each individual school in the league decreases proportionally. That's not good, that's bad.

Just like the SEC. Everyone thinks it is great to add two more teams to the league. But that's because every fan fancies their team as winning all the time. However, as you add more teams to your league, you decrease your own chances of winning the league. Not every team in a league can go 10-2 in football and 22-6 in basketball. Everyone forgets that every game has both a winner and a loser. As you add teams, somebody has to lose more league games than they would have with fewer teams. But no one thinks that will be their own school. But every time a Missouri or a Texas A & M wins the SEC, that means Alabama, Auburn, LSU, etc. aren't winning it. And vice versa.

Also, that's great that VCU, Butler, and George Mason made it to the Final Four within the past couple of years. But somehow everyone thinks that simply based on that accomplishment, those schools have suddenly arrived to the big time permanently. No. They had some great years. But that doesn't suddenly mean you are going to compete at that higher level every year from now on.

I think that falsely implies that there are only x number of spots for non-power-six teams in the tournament.  The way I would look at it is, is this team we're adding, on average, above or below the median for the conference as a whole.  If they're above that midpoint, they make the conference stronger.
