Talked to a source close to UNC. Kendall Marshall will have surgery Monday. Hopeful he'll play in Sweet 16. But it's considered "unlikely."

I have had 2 broken scaphoidss first the left then the right.... Both sustained playing basketball. They are no joke. 80%  Chance of non union even with surgery. The earlier the better. My personal prayers go out to this young man.

Feel very bad for the young man. Don't want to see anyone hurt, even if we are playing them.

Actually on my way in this morning Doug Gotlieb said that UNC's back up point guard and combo guard were already out for the season.  Their only point guard left is a kid who has just been getting 4 minutes a game behind Kendall.  Not saying this will make the game easy, but DJ should tear this kid up and give us a slightly better chance.

My hunch is he plays...But it will definitely have a negative effect on him.

Typical - Carolina fans are saying it doesn't matter for Friday night because, "it is only Ohio.  After that we'll need him."  I gotta listen to 5 days of this.  That's okay, give me an over-confident team and fan base.  Plays right into DJ and the team's strength - the underdog that earns respect.  Good news is, except for the Heel fans, EVERYONE in that dome will be rooting for Ohio.

Wow....If you're UNC, which would you rather have at point versus one of the leading TO-causing teams in the country: a healthy inexperienced 3rd stringer, or your first stringer with a broken wrist? OUCH!
