Well or any other team that beat UNC this year for that matter, but FSU did it twice.  The biggest connection I can make in each of UNC's loses they gave up 11 or more 3's.   In their bigger wins, their opponents hit less than 8 (Sometimes much less). Here is my data, the number is the opponents 3pt made:

Beat Mich St. - 2
Beat Wisc - 8
Beat Duke - 6

Lost UNLV - 13
Lost UK - 4
Lost FSU - 12
Lost Duke - 14
Lost FSU - 11

Obviously Kentucky is an exception, but we all know they have plenty of other ways to win.   Also in each of those losses UNC's 3 pt shooting was very low, which bodes well for us and our 3pt defense.  Plus with us draining 9 against USF including 4/4 by walt this will  be something Ill watch for when play UNC.

What other things do yall expect to be important metrics in our game if we are to win?

I posted this on another thread, but I feel as though the USF game prepped us more for the UNC game more than we imagined it could. USF frustrated the offense which lead to patience on the offensive end to get the right shot and stepping up of the defense, which really helped turn the game around.

I imagine UNC will frustrate us on the offensive end as well, but having just gone through that, the Bobcats shouldn't get rattled. And the defense should be able to step up and stop some of those UNC runs from going too far.

I am worried about foul trouble with UNC's bigs and inside game. We may need to rotate some bodies a little more to keep some key players out of foul trouble.

Our perimeter play will be crucial to counter their inside play.  We will also need to be very smart with our fouls especially down low.  A game like this is where losing Ty really hurt our depth for fouls.  TJ and Ric are great against certain teams as a 4, but against a team like UNC they won't be nearly as effective in that position.  Hopefully Walter and DJ can get to the basket and pick up some fouls on their bigs for us.

USF was good prep on offense, agreed. That being said, UNC can score the ball a wee bit better than USF. Going dead from the floor for 5, 6, 10 minutes against them will be bad for our chances.

I agree 100% we need to be paitent on offense.  OUr bigs can not afford to give away stupid fouls 30 feet from the hoop.  I think Stevie could play a more important role in tormenting Carolina's ball handlers with the abscence of Marshall.
