We talked to former Michigan basketball play-by-play voice and Ohio University alumnus Chuck Swirsky (http://woub.org/2012/03/13/podcast-former-michigan-broadc...)....

...and "Voice of the Bobcats" Russ Eisenstein (http://woub.org/2012/03/13/podcast-voice-bobcats-talks-oh...)

The two radio guys talked about Friday's NCAA Tournament clash. Plenty of great quotes in those interviews, but the one that sticks out the most is this one: "This team has a tremendous chance to make it to the Sweet 16 in St. Louis"

We'll have more as the week goes along. Thanks!

I think whoever wins the game between Ohio University and Michigan have a real good chance for the Sweet 16.

The next opponent likely Temple who is very similar to Michigan and Ohio University.

Meaning they aren't very big, aren't and beat/bang type of team like we have seen in the Big Ten with a Michigan State or Ohio State.

North Carolina is a team that can be beatable as well. They are a very good team, but they also are very streaky shooting team. They are very athletic, but not the bangers that a team like Michigan has had trouble with this year.

I think most of us here would love a shot at Temple.  And hey, we beat UNC last time we played....  Somehow I don't think they were quite as good as they are now.

Yeah, but neither were we

Realize there's like 1,000 different talking heads trying to give creative opinions regarding the tournament, upsets, Cinderella's, etc...---I just wish they'd leave OHIO alone.  This is the last thing our guys, or the UM guys, need to read.

I like it better the way we were going into the Georgetown game where everyone thought we'd get crushed.  Other team overlooking us and our guys playing with a chip on their shoulders.  That's the best formula.

UNC is beatable, but they've (also) only really had trouble against the big "bang" type of team (i.e. FSU, and FSU). I see them having their way with guard-centric teams

Wasn't going to happen this time anyway, for a variety of reasons:  We have a MUCH better record than last time; unlike G'town, Mich has considerable knowledge of -- and maybe of modicum of respect for -- the MAC (at least they don't take the MAC too lightly); and unlike G'town -- who lost in their first tourney game again last year -- Mich will likely learn from the Whoyas' mistakes.  Even without ANY pre-game hype, I'd still look for Mich to come with its A game.  They're problem apparently is getting intel on the Cats (game films, scouting rpts, etc.).  Our guys can still play with a chip on their shoulders from people like SI's Seth Davis, who when discussing Mich talks about a matchup with Temps and completely overlooks the Cats.

ESPN Insider has us on the list of "Most Likely Round 32 Upsets". Whoa, slow down there chief, lets get past Michigan first. Its crazy what that one Gtown game did to change perceptions.

No. 13 Ohio (16.7) vs. No. 5 Temple (38.3)
Upset chance:
19.3 percent

Ohio thrives off turnovers, plain and simple. But Temple's guards do a nice job of protecting the ball, giving it up on just 18.2 percent of possessions. But the most interesting matchup? The Owls' 40.2 percent 3-point shooting against the Bobcats' 30.3 percent 3-point D. Something's got to give if this duel materializes.

Watching the game tonight, I feel like we might have a better shot to be in this game than Temple. USF looking good.
