A link I found interesting  about where NBAplayers hit their shots.

http://www.kirkgoldsberry.com/courtvision.htm

It really challenges some of the assumptions that basketball dummies like me make. I'm usually happy if the offense works a set and gets what I think is a good shot because it's close to the basket. Instead basketball players are thinking about getting to their spot to get their best shot and defenses are trying to figure out how to keep shooters from their spots.

And it really underlines why Ivo Baltic is important. He makes shots from those blue areas more than most other big guys, it seems to me. A big guy knocking down mid-range jumpers from that space that is no-man's land is virtually impossible to stop. When Baltic knocks those shots down so many good things happen for the offense. I know I'm always hoping for another Brandon Hunter to chew on post defenders, but Ohio has a unique guy in the post who is a match-up nightmare. I'm starting to appreciate that more and more.

Great catch Brian.

I went through and watched both games frame by frame on our shots this weekend. Not sure what happened last week but our mechanics got  A LOT better. Those shots Coop took from deep were beautiful and Ivo's release was consistent and spot on. Save for Nick's early airballs, this team really cleaned up shooting a lot during championship week. I would be interested in seeing career shooting on our guys in a chart like this.

After reading this I want to go back and see where our shots came form relative to what the article is saying. I did watch the Lakers a couple of possessions where they had really uncanny ball movement this weekend resulting in great shots. .

never argue with idiots, they bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Winter comes and asks how you spent your summer.....

The game loves and rewards those who love and reward the game
