Started in the EMU thread, needs it's own thread. Let's work with Athletic Department to see what we all can do.

I'm fully on board with this! I'll have some discussions with the AD about this to see if we can find a way to do it. I'm sure the team would love some of us being there!

I'll chip in some money for the cause if it's necessary. One potential barrier though, isn't the MAC tourney during spring break?

Yes it will end up being during spring break. But I'm seriously looking at going!

Great job Ted.

Hopefully we can find a way to just easily send money to an account.

I will absolutely buy a full week MAC Tourney ticket for any OZONE member or student who wants to spend Spring Break in Cleveland cheering on the Bobcats.

I can't find anything about ticket prices. The arena site says something about tickets going on sale on the 7th. But no prices.

Session tickets are on sale now. Looks like they start at $22. I haven't seen whether the Ohio Lottery deal is on this year, which in past years allowed you to trade any lottery ticket for a ticket to the games (effectively $1 seats).

There was also something on Twitter somewhere (I'd have to look for it) that suggested there will be a Friday/Saturday "Pack" made available as well.

Years ago, didn't the athletics department organize a bus trip to the tournament?

We sent a bunch of buses to at least one bowl game.

I've heard that the University is working on this, but they can not find enough buses to fill the need over an OHIO University spring break. Demand is simply to high at this point!

Yes. Dan arranged it in 2005 and the O Zone did so in later years.

Can back this speculation up. They were considering doing this and maybe one away game but demand / COVID concerns shot those plans down. We are looking into doing a trip to the MAC tourney / away game next year. But, I'm looking at options to attend the MAC tourney this year

Not really speculation. It's just btc being a snark.

Careful though. When you misread the 10% of his content that isn't sarcastic snark, he gets really upset and defensive and couldn't possibly understand why we would think he was being sarcastic.

Wasn't snark at all. As Cellis confirms that this was discussed, but just not possible at the moment. Maybe that will change. I get you guys do not want to ever believe me, but Cellis has come on board and is trying like hell to build enthusiasm and add to the game day environment at the ground level, and you guys won't believe him either?

Billy,

You post a lot of snark. So I assume you can understand that we jump to the snark conclusion easily. If you want to be taken more seriously then post less snark. If your comment above is not snark at all, what does it mean?

"but they can not find enough buses to fill the need over an OHIO University spring break"

Why would they need to find enough buses to fill the need? One bus would be fine, cap the registration at the number of seats. And it's not clear what Cellis means that demand was a problem -- he could mean lack of demand while you seem to imply that too much demand is the problem? If you had said they can't get "a" bus that's one thing, but "enough" busses is another. If this isn't snark it's confusing, and due to your history most of us dismissed it as snark. Boy cries wolf so much . . .

I had a discussion with one of my 6th-grade classes earlier this week involving the meaning behind the fable The Boy Who Cried Wolf. The purpose was to let them see how potentially damaging it can be to have a reputation as a liar. Mind you, these are 11 and 12-year-olds.

Now I'm wondering if this might also apply to a grown adult constantly spewing sarcasm online.

The next time you have that discussion/give that lesson, try to work this song into it. When I taught Sociology at Plymouth in the late 70s, I often worked a song into the lesson. For some reason, the kids seemed to grasp the point much better when they could actually hear the words. This Harry Chapin song goes right along with the Boy Who Cried Wolf and Chicken Little.

Thanks, Alan. It would probably work even better if an experienced instructor would come in and sing it live. You game?

He is even HARDER to figure out than the boy who cried wolf, because he mixes in these moments where he comes back and says no I was serious, when I really don't think he was. He may be doubling down on the sarcastic snark, or he may be back pedaling for some reason. It's all a maddening mystery. Mocking a poster who is excited about something by acting like Ohio is big time is right up BTC's alley so I'm not sure why he is claiming to be serious.
