BG lost 8 of last 9 coming in. Western won at BG by 11. We lose by 3. This team is a train wreck right now. One of the worst losses in school history as we kick off March.

Carter’s selfish display with the two T’s is unacceptable. His gestures walking off the court were even more embarrassing. He should apologize to his teammates and coaches. Can’t believe a 6th year senior lost his cool like that. It’s like he didn’t care it would cost his team momentum and the game.

Kinda can't wait until he's gone. AJ and IJ have progressed in different ways and JC isn't what he was. He can't play hard the whole game like he used to and that's probably due to cramping.

I saw him get the 2 T's but not what he did afterwards. Any insight, FearLeon?

Waved bye bye to the crowd and put his hand to the ear. Zero maturity.

Especially for someone who is 30 years old and gave us a whole 6 pts

I endorse his behavior. Good for him. I would have done the same thing.

I've been a Carter fan through the years, but at this point I'd prefer he didn't make the NIU trip so Clayton, Ezuma and maybe Granger could get some quality PT. His performance tonight just wasn't what we needed from a team leader. He needs to think about that.

The Carter meltdown may have cost the team a chance down the stretch. But let's not forget the first 35 minutes -- particularly the first 15 minutes after halftime. This loss is on everyone. That was a lousy, shorthanded BG team playing with way more heart than a 23-win team until the final minutes.

Showed he cared - saw almost no heart or emotion from the team last Friday. So have no issue with it hear. Maybe he can used it to fire up his teammates.

This team's 6 men deep. I keep seeing posts from people who keep looking down the bench hopefully as if anybody else has provided any quality minutes. We lost two starters unexpectedly in Wilson and McDay, which obviously hurts.

This team goes where Sears, Carter, and Vander Plas takes it. It's as simple as that, and all three of them have played their asses off all year. They've played big minutes on a brutal schedule and without any of the three of them we're probably a .500 team. Carter isn't the problem.

I said it a month and change ago, but the biggest flaw in Boals so far is that outside of Sears, he's failed to bring in impact players. He's gotten way more out of guys than Saul did, but his recruiting classes haven't stepped up this year and it's left us with a very thin team. That's showing very acutely given we've played 15 games in 11 days or whatever.

I may be missing somebody, but Boals' recruits thus far are Roderick, Brown, Granger, Clayton, Ezumah, Towns, Adelodun, and Sears. And Wilson, Schmock, and Carter as grad transfers.

Outside of the grad transfers (and it's easier to hit on 23 year olds playing against 19 year olds), that's just not a good enough rate of identifying impact players.

+1. Sure Carter lost his cool but anyone who wants to pin the loss on him must not have watched the same game I did.

Wasn’t much different then getting a UNS from the sidelines against CMU. Was a killer move.

Recruited McDay as well I think.

Reality is he's coached a team that was supposed to have Wilson, McDay and Roderick (performing at a much higher level than he has). Add Wilson to front court and McDay to backcourt with Roderick delivering even last years numbers and you have a very different team.

I've heard of using technicals to fire teams up much earlier in a game, but when you've cut the lead to three with less than four minutes to go, allowing the other team to run the lead back to eight in one possession isn't cool. Doesn't give you a whole lot of time for a comeback.

I could be wrong but didn’t BRod and McDay commit while Saul was coach but agreed to stay committed once Boals got the job?

Huh? Can pin a lot of it on him.

3 of 9 from the field.

6 points.

Two technicals with under 4 minutes to go with your team down 3 after going on a 12-0 run and has all of the momentum.

The technicals led to a five point possession for BG and the Falcons win by 3. You must not have watched the same game that I did.

3:41 Technical Foul on Jason Carter. 62 - 65
3:41 Daeqwon Plowden made Free Throw. 62 - 66
3:41 Daeqwon Plowden made Free Throw. 62 - 67
3:41 Technical Foul on Jason Carter. 62 - 67
3:41 Daeqwon Plowden missed Free Throw. 62 - 67
3:41 Bowling Green Deadball Team Rebound. 62 - 67
3:41 Daeqwon Plowden made Free Throw. 62 - 68
3:14 Matiss Kulackovskis made Layup. Assisted by Daeqwon Plowden. 62 - 70

The story I heard is that Boals learned about his availability via his contacts at Ohio State. Reportedly OSU had him on their list of people to offer, and he was the last one cut from the list. I believe they had something like four scholarships to offer at that time, and Roderick ended up being number five. He has obviously not lived up to expectations, but maybe tonight can be the starting point of a renewed Roderick.

Not sure who your source is, OCF. While it's true that BRod was waiting on an offer from o$u. . . or perhaps X, UD, Cincy, Iowa, etc. . . it's not true that o$u had him on a list for a possible offer.

BRod was not committed. McDay was, but when Boals let the son of his High School coach go (did not retain him on the staff), he had to re-recruit him.

I support this version of events vs. OCF's source.

Jeff...you can't be serious? Which part do you endorse. The two technical fouls with 3:50 left that cost his team momentum and any chance to finish the comeback off with a win?

Or his pro wrestling antics with the crowd leaving the court?

If that were my kid, I would have been embarrassed. As a die-hard Ohio hoops fan, I was embarrassed. To not think of your teammates in the heat of battle and control your emotions is baffling to me for someone who is 25 years old. To battle back with a 12-0 run and piss it all away because of a selfish move is inexcusable.

So you are saying Cameron Joyce was the link to McDay? Appears that he landed on his feet up at St Ignatius coaching HS. For the recruiting guys who follow that stuff, do either Roderick or McDay show offers or interest from Boals or Ohio State?
