He dribbles into double teams and picks up his dribble unable to pass out of it. He also picks up his dribble against the sideline and the sideline becomes a free extra defender for the defense. Others do it too. I turned the game off part way thorough the second half when it became obvious there would be no comeback. Maybe our guys played better after I turned the channel but I doubt it. Their weakness has been exposed.... bad ball handling, bad passing, poor floor spacing...

This team will not go to the big dance and even if they did, would get their clock cleaned by some SEC or ACC team.

He also goes too far underneath against the bigs and gets stuffed a lot. He needs to put up the floater farther out in the lane or dish it to an open man.

We will get by.

Sometimes he dribbles to much...

Would help if some one would post up lower or slash so he could dish to...but that would require that they also manage to grab/secure the dish...

Yes, they did. They played much better the last seven minutes of the game and cut the deficit in half at one point. Maybe you should have tuned out earlier! ;-)

We were down 20 with 1:56 to go. That spate of threes made the final outcome appear much closer than the game was.

He has really fallen off, no question about it. If shots you take that are blocked were a stat, he would have some high numbers in that stat lately. Entering February he seemed invincible. Some defenses adjusted and stopped him and it seems his confidence has taken a hit as a result as well. He seems a bit shell shocked right now but I am confident adjustments will be made by him and the coaches in the offseason and he will come back firing on all cylinders next season.

Maybe I don't know what I'm talking about, but I would think it would be possible to make adjustments before the MACC. Such simple things as coaching him to look for the open man on the perimeter when he's being triple teamed inside, and to dribble away from the double or triple team when it appears instead of right into it and then trying to put up an ill-fated shot. As you say, earlier in the year he seemed to often perform magic and make shots when it appeared he was going to be blocked. But that's not true anymore. Teams know his tendencies and he just can't score with impunity underneath. Why can't adjustments be made now rather than next year?

I've seen him passing more out of the lane recently. What Akron did was trap and double team him on the wing.

They can, it's just hard. Some deep seeded strategic changes are need to the offense & Sears game.

My assessment as well. To compound that situation, at the point when he saw (or seemingly should have seen) the presses coming, he seemed to be dribbling into them anyway. Perplexing to watch develop.
