Obviously this means nothing right now, but it's fun conversation at least:

Belmont lost to Morehead on the road the other day. Hopefully they can win against Morehead and Murray in the return trips (and win the conference tournament)

It's disappointing to see Marshall struggling so badly (things I don't normally say) because that looked like a solid win. Now I would rank our best wins as 1. Belmont 2. CSU 3. Akron 4. Kent 5. Miami

Still nice to see us getting some respect.

I've seen crazier things happen.

If strength of schedule matters, Belmont just played a team with a 2-17 record and will follow that up with five more cupcake games in a row before playing Morehead again then some more cupcakes before a trip to Murray. My apology to DeCourcy, but 20+ wins won't get Belmont on the "next four out" bubble. Team Rankings . com generously ranks the OVC #23 of all leagues. Warren Nolen has the OVC at #24. It's a one bid league even though both Murray and Morehead might both end up deserving to be in if Morehead wins the OVC tourney. Murray is 18-2. That's not bad. They played a road game in December at top-ranked Auburn.

Wonder what the odds would be to bet on Belmont, Murray and Morehead to win every game except playing themselves... The rest of the OVC is horrid.

Net:

62 61 Toledo MAC
89 88 Ohio MAC
116 115 Buffalo MAC
151 151 Akron MAC
195 192 Kent St. MAC
223 222 Miami (OH) MAC
228 228 Bowling Green MAC
249 259 Ball St. MAC
269 270 Eastern Mich. MAC
292 290 NIU MAC
335 332 Western Mich. MAC
341 342 Central Mich. MAC

31 30 Murray St. OVC
48 47 Belmont OVC
110 110 Morehead St. OVC
255 257 Tennessee Tech OVC
267 255 SIUE OVC
288 293 Austin Peay OVC
290 294 Southeast Mo. St. OVC
296 301 Tennessee St. OVC
302 288 UT Martin OVC
355 356 Eastern Ill. OVC

The MAC looks so much better than the OVC. Both conferences have nearly three teams in the bottom 300.

(all fairness the MAC has five top 200 programs vs. the OVC's three top 200 programs).

You meant "playing each other." (but yeah) I actually think the odds of that are very good. But Ohio beat Belmont head to head, plays in a MUCH better conference, also played at LSU and UK (and didn't get beat by 40 @LSU like Belmont did)... why is DeCourcy kissing Belmont's backside? Ohio is more deserving of an at-large bid if needed. (even though in reality neither will get an at-large)

They are both in a "win the conference tourney or else" situation.
