Which would be the famous Cowtown located in the middle of the Buckeye State?

They can bitch all they want. Columbus does not want the tournament anymore. Poor timing and they have bigger fish to fry at that time. UD does a much better job with a much better arena.

Agreed Billy. If they don't like it, tough cookies.

And the Cowtown isn't located in the middle of the Buckeye state, but it is in the middle of nowhere Carroll County.

It should be interesting to see what happens with the Dayton site and First Four as the behind the scenes work goes on. As the Conference, the official's association and the NCAA dissects the OHSAA/Conference/NCAA use of the site and Dayton with regard to future. There have been rumblings for quite some time to move the First Four but Dayton has always rolled out the Red Carpet and used the Airport and Arena to their advantage to host. We should not be surprised if there are other cities that have wanted to host to use this against the City. It does not matter at this point whether they can tie the hotel to the positive tests but when consideration is given Dayton gets a black eye and will probably have to rethink their approach, if they even are able to retain the First Four.

Total joke! Want to blame others, funny how none of the high school teams had covid issues. The first four is solid in Dayton, attendance is great, the arena has hosted more NCAA tournament games than any other site. Why move? Some B.S., excuse that some blogger made?

Dayton shouldn't get a black eye for VCU getting covid because Dayton didn't host the First Four. All the games were played in Indiana this year. And the A10 tourney was in Richmond. Next year it's in DC and then NYC. With luck, covid shouldn't be quite the issue in the future.

Going forward, the logistics will be interesting but doable for games in Dayton. The girls tourney should be completed the day before Selection Sunday, so that shouldn't be an issue. The usual schedule would have the First Four the following Tuesday and Wednesday, so they'll have a couple of days to get the arena and housing together. And they had the boys tourney on Friday through Sunday this year, which gives them just a day to prep the arena (while the HS teams are practicing on Thursday) and get the housing together. That Thursday after the First Four will be the fire drill as teams and fans shuffle in and out of Dayton.

I am sorry. I must have misread all the articles I included. I bow to your wisdom and knowledge.

Actually, my mistake. For some reason they played all but the title game in Richmond (at the U of R and VCU) but then switched the championship game to Dayton. Still, St. Bonaventure apparently didn't have any issues, so it could be something that happened after they left Dayton.

I thought, like the referee and Ohio and most teams, they went straight from the Conference Tourney to Indianapolis. Maybe I am wrong but the article seemed like that was the case. How far is it from Dayton to Indianapolis? The articles seem to infer that Coach and the program had been really ahead of the game all year and did things right. I will go out on a limb and say that they did the same as Ohio and drove straight through from Ohio to Indiana.

They did. But the fact that St Bonaventure had no positives sort of blows up the hotel theory. It doesn't make much sense that the hotel could've given VCU so many positives and left St Bonaventure with none. Sounds like something else was going on with VCU. Maybe the ref, too, since he was one of the group that had dinner outside the bubble in Indy.
