I think we should be glad it is happening this year and not next year. If the season goes as well as we hope, we'll be at high risk of Boals getting plucked so the less vacancies the better.

How real do we think the chances are that he leaves this soon? In other words, it's his alma mater, which really seems to matter to him. Yeah, life changing money is a big deal, but a lot of guys turn that down the first time or two it comes their way. Recent examples: Porter Moser, Pat Kelsey. Mick Cronin did so at his Alma mater for several years. THE big example: Mark Few when they first started to see significant success 18-20 years ago.

I think our only real big threat right now is OSU. I don't see how he turns that down given his history there and living in New Albany. So you have to hope OSU stays mediocre enough to not fire Holtmann but not good enough to attract big programs to him. I don't think he is interested in moving in the next 3-4 years.

I tend to agree with you Andrew, but lets not forget there are some bigger programs than Ohio in our state not named Ohio State. Namely the two I would worry about are Dayton and Xavier. Though those aren't major steps up, they are big enough that would probably warrant at least a look on his part. Your love for your alma mater is hard to trump, especially if us fans and donors step up to the plate for once and entice him to stay.

I'm shocked it's taken this long. It feels like Miller has been in the middle of controversy at Arizona for several years. And now they aren't winning like they're used to winning. Maybe that was the final straw.

If he is successful, he's gone and there is nothing wrong with that. Most on here know my stance on the issue, so I'll keep my pie hole shut.

What happens when he takes the Ohio State job and moves to Dayton? How disappointed will the fans be?
