They're in "really need this one" territory in their game today vs. the Broncos. BG is in a tailspin and is sort of resetting their system mid season. They're going one way and we're going the other. Since our game in the Convo, they've booted a rotational guard from the team and their big guy from Chillicothe, Swingle, has been non-existent. Look for Dwight to eat again and if BVP wants to put it on the floor and get to the rim, he should have some good opportunities too.

Who was "booted"?

davin zeigler

I'm thinking he saw a couple of freshman guards, Methany and Fulcher, eating into his minutes.

He hadn't played since December 13. He didn't play in our game.

Swingle hasn't played in their last two games. After getting 14 against Ohio in 26 minutes, he put up none vs NIU, 6 vs CMU, 2 vs CMU, 8 vs BSU, 2 vs Buffalo and none vs Akron and Fiami. He hadn't played more than ten minutes in each of the last five games he was in. I haven't seen where has injury or other issues.

BG in a free fall and I'm here for it. Western gets their first win in well over a month.

I don't understand how a team that should be so much better has lost five straight.

BG is hot garbage. They've been the most overrated team in the MAC the past couple years too. They've also been the preseason pick to win it the last couple years as well. Why??? That program have never won anything. They're paper tigers man. Wake me up when they win something that matters. Because it won't be a MAC Tournament, that's for sure. I hope Ohio goes up there and slaps them something silly. Should of happened even without Preston in Athens a few weeks back.

They had 25 from Turner and 16 from Plowden and not much from anybody else. Diggs played 26 minutes and scored three pts. Swingle had as many pts in three minutes. Fields was at his average but was only 3-10 from the field, where he's 44% on the season. They hit 28% from three, 54% from the line and were outrebounded 42-32. The only reason they were in the game is that WMU had 15 turnovers to BG's 4. WMU hit 48% of its threes, 50% of its twos and 76% from the line.

It does sound like they have some internal issues. They've been shuffling people in and out of the starting lineup and nothing seems to work. Whatever it is, let's hope it keeps up for at least one more game.

Need to go in there and take out those turkeys.

We're favored to win in 4 of our next 5 games

Anyone heard if Rife is expected back? And if he is does he crack into playing time? Granger has not set the world on fire spelling DW3 and McMurray is not doing BVPs minutes any good. We have Miles and Sears on the wings but need a big man. Foster is surely missed.

Hmm. That sounds vaguely familiar to a certain football team void of a championship.

Seems like BGSU's rebounding and shot selection have not been good during the losing streak. They still have the players to make a run down the stretch.

OK, folks. Based on this insight and past experience, we're gonna lose by 14.

Based on SBH not being in attendance, a sure bad omen for our Bobcats when playing in Anderson Arena/Stroh Center/Doyt Perry Stadium, I think we win by 14.

Which venue is SBH's attendance the biggest curse--the old Rubber Bowl in Akron, or BGSU?

If it's on us, have to think this puts the Feb 9 game against Akron and even possibly the Feb 13 game at WMU in jeopardy as well.

Could be looking at only 3 games remaining (1 home) before the tourney, pending make-ups.

Watched Kant win and Akron last night. Kant looked horrible in a home game. No energy or defense. Kant had so many wide open shots and just couldn't hit anything.

Looks like Nuga (18 ppg in conf) could be out for the rest of the season (according to announcers).

Dakich was like a paid spokesperson for the MAC last night.

Watching the replay this AM over breakfast. Man was that good. Kron up 24 Dakich tells a story about being up at Buffalo and then 15 mins later in the second half Kent makes their run.

Lots of folks hate Dakich but he brings so much to the analysis. Honesty (seeing what he sees...in his opinion) analysis, knowledge of the game, affinity for the MAC, willingness to tell stories makes the games he does pretty palatable.

He was very professional and avoided his disdain for Sendy after coaching with him at IU under Samson.

That was a very good broadcast and enjoyable to get MAC knowledge, conference stories past and present and see the transformation from his local show to the national broadcast. DanCensored is different than the daily 12 to 3. Daily drive podcasts https://mytuner-radio.com/podcast/the-dan-dakich-show-pod...

Too bad both could not lose but Groce has Kron cooking again. Sucks that we can not get a win up on the frozen tundra of NW OH today.

never argue with idiots, they bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Winter comes and asks how you spent your summer.....

From a release posted this morning on the Ohio website:

The following games have been POSTPONED
Saturday, February 6 – Ohio at Bowling Green
Tuesday, February 9 - Akron at Ohio
Tuesday, February 9 – Toledo at Northern Illinois
Tuesday, February 9 – Eastern Michigan at Miami
Saturday, February 13 – Ohio at Western Michigan
Tuesday, February 16 – Central Michigan at Ohio

I doubt that the full number of MAC games that have been postponed this season will be rescheduled. NIU would have to play 13 games in about 21 days; EMU would have 12 games in the same amount of time. Pros might be able to do it, but not colleges. The MAC will probably try to reschedule some games during the week of February 22nd when most teams have some open dates and let it go at that.
