Saul Phillip's wife Nicole has a very emotional post this morning about Saul's recent trip between games where he was stuck in a blizzard and eventually helped a family get to safety while the woman was in labor. Such a good dude.

It seems like he is in the right place, he was able to save a family

Nobody despises to lose more than I do. That's got me into trouble over the years, but it also made a man of mediocre ability into a pretty good coach. Woody Hayes

+1.

He might not have been the guy for OU basketball, but there's a lot more to life than basketball - and he's a winner at life. Great dude.

Thanks for sharing!

Reminded me of being at a business training meeting in my first job after OU and the guest speaker relating his story about how he had barely survived a winter road incident.

In the winter of 1977 in Indiana this businessman, dressed only in business attire got stranded on a highway in farm country. Thinking that if he stayed in the car he would perish he headed towards a house he thought he had passed. In the blizzard, he could just make out the way from the telephone poles/lines. Meanwhile, a farmer had come across his abandoned car and radioed the police when he got home. The businessman not being able to find the house and quickly starting to freeze headed back for the car and was able only to crawl on the road.

The police asked the farmer for the license number of the car and the farmer said he would go back and get it and when he did he discovered the returned and half frozen businessman. So he was saved through some amazing coincidences. But not without permanently losing use of both of his knees and use of both hands to frostbite.
