*does roster have enough size/talent to defend opponents inside game?

*Which newcomers will play in rotation? Who can create own shot?

*does team have lockdown defender(s)?

*Will we see slam dunks on a regular basis? I know that's not vital but it seems we have gone entire games without dunks recently. Or one dunk.

*How many plus FT shooters will be on the court this season?

*What type of offense will Jeff install?

1) I think it's adequate enough without know what you're getting with Springs/Ogbunda. I think one of them will be on the floor at all times.

2) I would say all minus Foster will play regular minutes. We do have shot creaters but I think they are all freshmen.

2) Maybe Miles Brown. He had a lot of steals in high school

3) Despite how poor the teams were, the last two years were actually pretty good dunk years.

4) Yeah not a clue.

5) Don't know the offensive system, but personnel-wise he said he prefers one point guard, three wings, and a center. I doubt we'll ever see a lot of low post banging. I would still count on BVP and Ogbunda on the court together to start, and my gut tells me Murrell will be BVP's primary backup.

*does roster have enough size/talent to defend opponents inside game? I believe we have more inside depth than we did last year for sure. Ogbanda is an unknown but prediction-wise...he's coming from the ACC, he seems like a leader already and he definitely has muscle. McMurray was getting some spot time last year already and BVP is going to be a tough play on the wing with his size. Springs...who knows??? If a team has a James Thompson type player we may struggle though. But in the MAC I can't think of that kind of guy.

*Which newcomers will play in rotation? Who can create own shot? McDay and Roderick were winners in high school and will compete. Miles Brown to me is our wildcard who could see time. Price looks college ready in terms of his size.

*does team have lockdown defender(s)? Both Brown twins were known for defense and I feel like our team will be better defensively just from having a coach who is intense.

*Will we see slam dunks on a regular basis? I know that's not vital but it seems we have gone entire games without dunks recently. Or one dunk. OH YEAH!

*How many plus FT shooters will be on the court this season? I can see us driving to the hole waaaaay more than in the past. It seemed like Saul let his guys shoot outside waaaay too much. Love the slashing at least on film of guys like Roderick, McDay and Price.

*What type of offense will Jeff install?

I think sometimes people don't realize what the landscape of college basketball truly is.

We were 278th in the country in 3pters taken as a % of total FGA last year. The year prior we were 238th. If anything I would say we didn't have enough 3pt shooting the last two years. Of course that was a result of Dartis and Gollon being injured.

Boals had Stony Brook on the other side of things being in the top 100 nationally for 3pters taken in 2017 and 2018, although they dropped to 224th last year so it truly may depend on our personnel.

Dartis being healthy alone should get us back at least in the top half of the country. I believe Roderick is a pretty good outside shooter as well. I guess we will find out about the other guys in a couple months.

Agree on the whole premise of this post. Based on the composition of this year's roster, I would expect to see MORE 3's rather than fewer, and I wouldn't expect that to trend anywhere but up. How those 3's are achieved, however, will be interesting, and does make a difference in my opinion.

I'm assuming that the following players are going to lead the way in minutes:

Dartis, Ogbonda, BVP, Preston, McDay, Price, Roderick. Five of them are guards/wings. I'd expect attempted three's to be more common.

I'm hoping upon all hopes that the tempo - i.e. pace of the ball being moved up the floor in transition to attempt to create more easy baskets - is noticeably quicker at some point than we saw the prior two years.
