Mercer has fired their coach after 11 seasons. What are others that you know about?
Troy and SIUE are 2 others.
Add Niagra, Fairfield, Stetson, Kennesaw State, Tennessee Tech, SIU, Cal Poly, UCLA-looks like 11 so far
FWIW, there were 55 last year.

I'm sure a bevy will come as the major conference tournaments progress in the coming days.

Danny Manning may be packing as I type this as the Deacons likely slept in their own beds last night.

Does Wake really owe Danny $18 million to walk?

Bryce Drew might be out of work in a few days.

20 games losing streaks will do that.

I could see this as a landing spot for Saul. If Semeka Randall could get a D1 head coaching job after leaving Ohio in the state she did, Saul can too.

Rumblings that Texas A&M will pursue Buzz Williams. If VA Tech opens up, bye bye Nate Oats.

I just read a tweet from Goodman noting that St. Joe's just got a new AD a couple years ago. Has quite a bit to do with it I'd say.

You really think his wife would want to go to Blacksburg? Though there is a new osteopathic medical school there, I don't think they have many world-renown lymphoma oncologists in town.

And they're the Bobcats as well, so there's that simple transition. ;-)

I am not familiar with her situation. Is she an oncologist or does she suffer from lymphatic cancer?

Saul is 215-160 so far at D-1. Like I’ve said, I think I could sell Saul as a good candidate as a D-1 coach pretty easily. There are, after all, 353 D-1 schools and 40-50 will probably have openings each year. I’m not sure it will be this year though.

She was first diagnosed with cancer in 2015 and is a huge proponent of the cancer institute in Buffalo.

I also think this house will be hard to replicate for the cost in any market Oats may consider:

I’ll be honest, i don’t think that that’s much of a concern. From what I’ve read, she’s in a pretty deep remission (mCR? That was the impression i got from one article that i read, though it was written for a lay audience so it didn’t really specify). If that’s the case, she’s probably only headi into Roswell Park pretty infrequently...from something like once every 6 weeks initially to once or twice a year (or less) as time goes on. Couple a raise from (for instance) Virginia Tech with the deep reduction in income taxes that comes from moving out of New York, and her flying to Buffalo for her appointments doesn’t seem like a barrier to me.

I agree that the house on the Niagara River probably can’t be duplicated in Blacksburg

They’ll be able to keep that as their second home.

Or, he could commute from Buffalo via helocopter the way McDavis did from either Lancaster or Dayton (pick your debunked rumor)! cool wink

You could be right, but color me skeptical on a Blacksburg move.
