Ohio Women start the season off right with a convincing 95-72 win over UNC Wilmington at the Convo. They may not be deep but they are definitely talented. Five in double figures always a good sign:

Soph. Cece Hooks, MAC Frosh of Year who already holds Ohio’s single season steals record and 8th in nation as a true frosh: 16 points, 9 assists, 3 steals (in 21 minutes!)

Soph. All Frosh workhorse Gabby Burris with 23 points

Jr. Amani Burke, sister of Knicks Trey Burke, 20 points

Local favorite gutsy Dominique Dosseck, 17 points

And my big surprise- R Frosh (injury) multidimensional Erica
Johnson, able to play point when Cece was in foul trouble but also plays up front: 11 points, 7 boards, 5 assists

Olivia Bower, Katie Barker, and Kendall Jessing will be needed for depth, especially on the boards as we are not a big team.

GO OHIO

Jason Arkley's tweets suggested that Barker may have aggravated an injury or something. True?

Knee injury. Out for season, unfortunately. Barker has battled lots of injuries behind the scenes.. I really feel for her.

Team looked great!

It's the annual Education Day; they invite local elementary schools to attend. Gets a good, enthusiastic crowd and bumps attendance figures for the season. Fun time for the kids and they get out of school and get to the Convo, many for the first time ever.
So, yes, the game is at 11AM.

Another cozy win for the ladies. They blew the doors off Binghamton in the 2nd half today and coasted.

If the cynics applied the same logic to Bolden he'd be on their hot seat too. They'd say things like:

"2-3 in the MAC tourney and not even reaching the MAC semifinals since our championship in 2015. Is this what has become of our once proud program?"

"Ohio finished 9-9 in the MAC, this is embarrassing and not something we should accept at our university."

"In his 5 seasons, Ohio has a 57-53 record in the MAC and made it passed the 2nd round just once. He had his chance to build a consistent winner and has failed."

DISCLAIMER - These are sarcastic comments making fun of our hater friends. Not actual opinions of coach Bolden.

In the Denver Thanksgiving Classic, ladies go to 4-0, rolling St Bonaventure 70-53. As has been the case, Bolden sits his starters in the 4th quarter. Cats take on 5-1 Lamar tomorrow.

After a tight first half, the Cats run away from Lamar 87-62. Now 5-0 on the season.

Ohio was #85 in the nation coming into game today in the Massey NCAA women's basketball ratings. Buffalo and Central Michigan both are in the top 41. Bobcats get a week off before taking on Cleveland State and then they get a big game at Purdue.

Our defense kept it close for 3 quarters, then a 27-13 tear in the 4th and the Cats stay undefeated (6-0), beating Cleveland State 72-54. Big test Wednesday as Purdue invades the Convo.

Slightly off topic, but MAC non-conference scheduling in women's basketball is outstanding. The following schools are playing true road games at MAC schools: Purdue, Louisville, Stanford, Michigan, Cincinnati, Vanderbilt, Notre Dame (#1 in the freaking country!)and Butler.

Vandy was supposed to come to the Convo this year (return Home/Home from '15-'16)... Bought them out. Coach wanted no part of Ohio this year.
