Isn't it typical that there is a thread of what the new recruits and transfers look like on the hardwood and in the weight room? What about someone grew 3 inches or someone put on or took off 20lbs?

Someone worked on the free throws and regularly knocks down 25 in a row?

Come on give us some excitement!!

As far as I know Dartis, Block and Murrell all had offseason surgeries. Hopefully they are progressing smoothly and resting. But Arkley did mention in a tweet recently that BVP and Carter are full go finalllllyyyyyy.

The second part there - with Carter and BVP is great news.

Anyone who has hip surgery the recovery period is long and if Dartis had both done his recovery would more than likely longer.
It is extremely possible that he could red shirt this year.

I think that depends on what is done. I had hip-replacement surgery this past December and was playing baseball in April. I know pitching in a old guys baseball league isn't as demanding as playing D1 basketball but I don't necessarily think we are writing off Jordan just yet. The hip was a ton easier than the knee replacement I had had 18 months earlier.

Hey, I am stealing my own thread!! The hip makes me wonder:

In the fall of 1974, during the final game of the year, Ohio QB, Rich Bevely went down with an injury on a keeper right in front of the Ohio bench (east stands). I was on the sideline that game and at first it looked like his knee had been destroyed but then on further observation, it was the entire leg had made a quarter rotation at the hip and thus the look of his leg bent at the knee while sitting up but the knee, calf and ankle rested at a 90 deg on the ground.

Rich was one tough dude, I don't recall him even wincing at what had taken place. I wonder if that hip caused our QB any problems as a "civilian".

Roster updated without the walk-ons (other than McDonald).

Ok, who's got it? Name them all. Left to right:

My best guess: strength coach, BVP, Carter, Dougie, Murrell, Gollon, McMurray, Dartis, James, walk-on, Cowart, Preston, Springs. Missing Block and Kirk.

Those guys better move before the first football game or OCF will go balistic.

Observations from the picture. BVP and Carter look like men who can bang inside. McMurray is more slight than I thought and James looks bigger than I thought. Springs also looks bigger than I had heard. Cowart is a man and is going to shock the MAC while Gollon continues to beef up. I think we're going to be one of the stronger teams in the MAC. I just wonder where Kirk and Block were?

And, you'll be copasetic with it, Alan?

Doug looks huge but I think Gollon is most improved physically and will really surprise people this year.

Ran into an assistant in my short time in Athens this weekend, told me the boys are really progressing well this summer. Thinks talent is Top 4 in the MAC no questions asked but again the issue of health will kick into the equation.

Definitely was excited by the newcomers on campus and thinks they will make some noise in this year's rotation.

Carter looks more cut and chiseled in that pic than I'd have expected.

With talent that has had major, major injuries, but can give us long long term success if given the chance. Barring injuries, this will be a sweet season! We will all enjoy it!

the physical changes in both Doug and Jason are great to see. If both can stay healthy, it could be a very interesting year.

Basra Fakhir was perhaps the most chiseled basketball player I've ever seen, but he only averaged 6 ppg at Ohio.

Translation: We are overanalyzing a photo of shirtless players.
