Anyone else see this? Dan Patrick had Marty Smith on to talk about it.
Basically, it allows college sport fans to round up on purchases to support schools. Consumers register their credit or debit cards and have purchases rounded up to the next dollar.
I don't know if OHIO will participate. Auburn, Samford and Georgia Southern are initial partners. Supposed to be something about it on College GameDay tomorrow.
Why wouldn't OHIO join?

I'm seeing the roundup option more and more to support a specific cause. With grocery stores it's usually food banks. While it's an interesting idea, my guess is that it would generate peanuts.

Why not? Great idea. Unfortunately, I think that the revenue that Ohio University pulls in on such things is a drop in the bucket compared to what Power 5 teams have the potential of making. Then again, wasn't the plot of the 1999 movie, "Office Space," that they attempted to get revenge on their callous Corporate employers by using a computer virus to channel fractions of pennies into a private account that they had set up, only to come to realize that it was far more money than they had imagined that it would be and thus put them at risk of getting caught? While what you are suggesting is perfectly legit by comparison, perhaps it will, in fact, end up adding up to a significant amount of money for our Bobcats and be totally worth it. Therefore, Ching-Ching, Bling-Bling.

I thought it rang up too much $$ too fast because Michael Bolton put a decimal point in the wrong place because of his A.D.D.
