The plan includes four levels of updates with a goal of bringing 100% of the University’s residential spaces up to a common standard. Major renovation of existing halls, minor renovations where recent investments have already occurred, and maintenance investments in halls that have had recent investments are recommended. New construction is also recommended to fill gaps in room style needs, replace facilities beyond their useful life, and provide capacity needs aligning with enrollment projections.
The plan currently calls for a sustained capacity of 7,500 beds to ensure adequate housing for first- and second-year students. The University has issued a request for proposals for Athens-area apartment owners to partner with the University to serve as an extension of the residential experience in the event that ongoing renovations require additional bed space.
Future steps in the plan’s development include a detailed financial plan and prioritization of investments to be made over the next six years. As individual projects in the plan are ready to be implemented, they will be brought to the Board of Trustees for approval.

The funding is planned to complete Ohio dorm renovations. A new dorm will be built on back south by Fall of 2026 to allow Ohio take other dorms offline for major renovations. Other buildings will have minor renovations done during the summer. Full project to complete by 2030. Most of the money is coming from revenue streams with $75 million of loans from the internal bank.
Presentation at the BOT discussing the master plan at 4:11:50 of the video in the link below. Also worth noting are plans for Bird Arena renovations and a new pedestrian pathway south of college green going through parts of what is Scott Quad. University disinvesting Central Classroom Building, Haning, Lasher and RTEC. RTEC is not listed for sale so may be torn down for a second paw print park (paw print west). Nothing at all athletic related aside from a new roof for Peden Tower for what appears to be the remainder of the decade.

On Union Green another new building for HCOM called the Translational Research Facility which is planned to go up in the parking lot behind the Medical Education Center (small building in link). To fill out the block for Union Green.
