BREAKING: @Ohio_Baseball is expected to hire former player and current @LibertyBaseball assistant Andrew See as its new head coach, I'm told. See spent one year at Liberty and has had stints at Ohio State, Clemson and Duke. He returns to his alma mater with a lot of experience.

Good news and as DC mentioned this will get the baseball alums more involved.

From my posts most can gather I haven’t been the biggest See supporter, but I will say I’m drawing off experiences when he was basically a brand new coach thrown into a tough spot.

People might act like this is a return to glory, but I think he knows as well as anyone that the program wasn’t in great shape while he was here. That’s why he was ultimately passed on the first time.

However, with higher level coaching experience, maybe he comes back better and more prepared than he would have been back in the day. I feel much more confident in Ohio Baseball than I did a month ago, but I’m hoping he can step things up now that he has full control.

P.S. - See if you still read BobcatAttack, two things: make it easy to purchase authentic Ohio baseball merchandise (easy extra money for the program) and please get some games against your former teams.

Aside from the pipe dream of Scott Stricklin, this was the best feasible direction to take. Andrew will take a lot of pride in the job and I have no doubt will bust his butt to bring us back to a respectable program. Welcome, coach!

This is spot on. This program was not in a great spot in 2012 and a tough decision had to be made. That gets overlooked whenever this topic gets brought up. Its water under the bridge now with a new AD.

I do think that fundraising is a big gap that needs to be filled and I hope this hire helps that area of the program. The Wren needs some love so I'd like to see that be a priority.

Andrew R mentioned above that Stricklin would have been an outstanding hire. I agree that Stricklin would have been a HR hire. However, I highly doubt the Bobcats could have afforded him. Andrew See has alum connections and has paid his dues at larger schools. See will get the baseball alums more involved.

The VA in Chillicothe has passed up Bob Wren Stadium somehow.

Dounuts, that is a very very fair outlook, look back and opinion. In my opinion (which that and a $1,89 will get you a cup of coffee in the morning.

Speaking of Chillicothe's VA Stadium, Ohio recruit Evan Lichtenauer led Licking Valley to a Div III regional semifinal win there yesterday. Valley defeated Watterson 2-0. Evan pitched a complete game shutout, lowering his ERA on the season to 0.25. Earlier in the post-season, Evan pitched Licking Valley to a 7-1 win over Hartley while striking out 9.

Lichtenauer will pitch in the state final 4 next week if Valley can beat Circleville later today (w/o Lichtenauer on the mound) at VA Stadium.

.25 ERA is impressive regardless of competition, hoping he can make an impact next season, lord knows its needed.
