There's an article in today's paper by Matt Hayes of USA Today about the B1G and
SEC working on a scheduling agreement to create marque games and align conferences for new T.V. revenue deals.

Somewhat surprised this hasn't taken hold sooner, like the ACC/BIG10 Challenge in basketball.

Now that there is some extra cushion for losses with a 12 team play-off, the fear of being a 1 loss team that's knocked out a title hunt is gone.

Yep, and the SEC/BIG 10 are also trying to negotiate a set number of guaranteed spots in the playoff for the two conferences.

And if they don't get this set number? Wouldn't surprise me if they create a big10/sec-only playoff in a couple of years.

Yep, which is why they'll likely get what they want.

They going to get 3-4 each minimum. One may get 5 and a 3 loss team will make it.
