One school is claiming another school used NIL in an attempt to lure away a player under contract. Wis has sued MiamiF, claiming the Canes tried to coax DB Xavier Lucas to break his two-year contract with the Badgers. The suit claims the Canes offered Lucas more NIL money than he gets at Madison. Without conclusive proof to the contrary, I’d believe UW over UM any day of the week. This is the program largely responsible for the modern taunting rule, because of the uncontrolled behavior of its players back in the days of Johnson and Erickson. Remember the classic battles with UND in that time frame? There was a reason for the “Catholics vs Convicts” T-shirts.
