First FBS level win since 1987 for APSU.

https://www.clarksvilleonline.com/2025/08/30/apsu-footbal...

After jumping out to a 14-0 lead at the end of the first quarter, Austin Peay (1-0) maintained no less than a 10-point lead throughout its victory against Middle Tennessee (0-1), outgaining the Blue Raiders in yardage, 341-153, while also holding MTSU to 0-12 on third down.

Good chance MTSU now goes winless this season.

I put together a little recap of all our portal jumpers in the portal thread, but this one kinda hurts. I wish RHJ stayed. Even more now that he’s *still a back-up, but on a bad team in a similar conference. 3 carries, 24 yards in an FCS loss. He would be an incredible compliment to Sieh.

I believe Habinowski also plays for MTSU.

Remember their fans thought that they were too good for the MAC. They had their sights set on higher things -- like the AAC. Now the Patriot League looks like a better landing spot! ;-)

The QB at Pickerington Central near me is currently committed to MTSU after a list of MAC, FCS, Sun Belt, and a Big 12 offer. Maybe the OU alum head coach can get in his ear about heading an hour down 33 instead.

Didn't realize he left his in-state team. 3 schools already with a fourth certainly on the way ... the bowl game likely his career highlight. Life comes at you fast

Tying an NCAA record in your first appearance, and then drifting back into the woodwork is strange indeed. After that initial performance I thought he was the second coming of Jim Brown.  I was, of course, woefully wrong.

Here's what my favorite AI Bot says about that performance:

Yes, Rickey Hunt from Ohio set a remarkable record in a college bowl game. In the 2023 Myrtle Beach Bowl, he tied the NCAA bowl record by scoring four rushing touchdowns and one receiving touchdown, totaling five touchdowns in the game. This performance helped lead Ohio to a 41-21 victory over Georgia Southern.

Key Highlights of Rickey Hunt's Performance

  •     Total Touchdowns: 5 (4 rushing, 1 receiving)
  •     Rushing Yards: 115 yards on 17 carries
  •     Bowl Game: Myrtle Beach Bowl
  •     Date: December 16, 2023

This achievement not only tied the NCAA bowl record for total touchdowns in a game but also set a program record for Ohio. Hunt's outstanding performance earned him the MVP of the Myrtle Beach Bowl, showcasing his significant impact in high-stakes situations. If you have more questions about college football records or specific players, feel free to ask!

I’d be curious what happened there, because he commits to Tulsa. Exciting for him to get back to Oklahoma, I’m sure. And then… fell off the depth chart (They brought in two portal RB from The U and from Baylor, maybe after him? Idk) and left. MTSU gave him the same chance OU would’ve unless MTSU told him he has the opportunity to start, where best OU could do is say you’re behind Sieh (again).

Would be great to have him back next season if the wind should blow him this way.

He still follows Sieh and Parker. He even follows Coach Boals.
